Superb French library in a beautiful historic building. They have a great selection of books, from my favorite French authors, to my childhood memories even (classics , modern authors, bandes dessinées, and more). Most are in French, but there’s also a solid English section. I'd say you’re sure to find something you'll enjoy. The atmosphere is quiet and welcoming, with a first floor dedicated to kids’ books and French-learning materials (among other things), plus a small area where you can sit and read a bit. The staff is friendly too. Definitely worth stopping by, even just to browse the shelves and admire the building.

One of the prettiest bookstores I’ve ever seen! • The books are very well organized, with a great mix of French and English titles. • Cozy seating is available, and they don’t mind if you pick up a book and spend time reading. • The staff are kind and accommodating. • Books are in perfect condition. Such a beautiful spot to visit in NYC; definitely a must for book lovers! 📚

I believe this building is like the consulate or something like that. But surprisingly it includes exhibit area, as well as a two-story bookstore that is very unexpected. Definitely recommend if you’re interested in the French language.

It’s such a treasure to have a French language bookstore (though not exclusively in French). It has a good selection (though I wish they had more Jules Verne), it’s easy to navigate, and the staff is very friendly. The woman behind the counter had a beautiful accent and helped me look for things. A true pleasure to shop here. I settled on a couple of Camus and Houellebecq novels.

This French book store was beautiful. Especially the second floor with the art piece on the ceiling.

This is such a beautiful location in the French embassy! I highly recommend checking out the Le petit prince statue outside. Make sure you go upstairs to see the constellation ceiling in the bookstore

GORGEOUS building on the inside! So many hidden gems, including library, definitely don’t miss the narrow staircase up to the second floor, amazing ceiling up there! ✨ Tons of French literature (in French and English as well as so many great children’s books. Don’t miss The Little Prince statue outside 👑📚
