Recently had a family dinner at Luigi’s. We’ve been coming here for years now and it’s one of our favorite places to dine in. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, service is great, and food is delicious. I had the lamb rack special with a side of the creamy polenta and asparagus - 10/10! We ordered the fried calamari and shrimp tempura appetizers (not pictured). I can always count on the consistent food and service here. Would recommend making reservations ahead of time, especially if it’s during the dinner rush.

We came to Luigi’s on a Sunday evening for dinner for two. This was our first time and immediately our first impression was the ambiance was lovely. However, despite making a reservation, we ended up waiting for over 30 minutes. I don’t normally mind waiting, especially when I can see that the restaurant is busy. What threw us off was that we made a reservation and nobody gave us a heads up or communicated that it would be a wait. After about 35-ish minutes of waiting, my fiancé had to go up to see what was going on. I’m not sure if we would have been forgotten or not had he not done that. It kind of made the reservation useless. That’s really the only reason I took off a star. Otherwise, we had a great time. Our server was wonderful and I’m so sorry I forgot her name-but she was a young woman serving us Sunday evening. 5 stars for her. We ordered a margherita wood oven pizza to start which was phenomenal. Fiancé had the seafood pasta and loved it, he cleared his plate. I had the chicken parm alla vodka which was perfect!! The chicken parm was cooked perfectly but it was HUGE, so I did have to pack some home. It tasted just as great the next day :) All of the staff who served us at our table were super attentive and kind, we appreciated that.
The service for Mother’s day ‘26 was lousy. We had reservations but still waited outside for almost an hour for our table. When at the table the waiter recommended ‘Family Style’ for the appetizers and suggested the following three, Calamari, Pizza and mozzarella sticks. There were 8 of us. Half were small children so they don’t eat like adults. The waiter didn’t tell us ‘Family Style’ is not one larger plate for the table to share but two orders of the same thing. To make it worse we ordered baked clams, not family style, but he doubled the order anyway. When the appetizers came out, 8 dishes. 160 bucks worth of food we were overwhelmed and we were shocked. Didn’t even fit on the table. The waiter obviously padded the bill without any regard to our dining experience. After the appetizers came out, were eaten and in no way finished. We were soo stuffed. We didn’t even have room for the entrees. Then the entrees came to the table. Right after he served the entrees, just minutes later they brought out the tin to go containers and brown paper bags. This place and service was all about the money. No caring about our experience.
Had a roast beef Americano hero Take out from the lunch menu. Had one thin slice of roast beef folded in half on each side of the hero. Pathetic would never order from here again. *Update* I tried a different lunch hero because of coworkers ordering here. Had the Patsy; I’ll give it 3 stars. It tasted good but they barely gave a slice of prosciutto on each side. And the chicken cutlet was cut in half. Plus not enough ricotta and sauce was lacking. For $13 it should be much better! And once again too much bread considering the amount I got. Most likely done with this place unless I’m starving and this is the place picked at work!
Came during NYC restaurant week and the amount of food given was definitely worth the price. Food was delicious and all the waitresses were friendly and attentive. I’m glad they sat us in the back since the front got very crowded and loud.
Amazing experience! We had a great dinner at Louie’s.. We had the crab cakes, lobster salad, rolls, skirt steak and lobster. Everything was well prepared and delicious. Antonio was great. We were celebrating a birthday and he made it extra special. We can’t wait to come back and try other entrees.
Dined in yesterday for my sisters birthday. Which they didn’t do anything special even though we noted it with the reservations. The waiter was rather rude. Don’t remember his name but he was not welcoming being that’s it was my first time there. That’s not even the big issue, i went to order something on the menu and he cut me off and told me i wouldn’t like it.. i thought that was very rude and quite frankly i lost my appetite. I wonder how the owners would feel if they knew he was discouraging patrons from ordering what they would like. He wasn’t very attentive but i guess it’s because gratuity was included. The waiter at the other table was fun vibrant and made his guest laugh. That’s how i wish my sisters evening went. Oh well the experience was lack luster and it sucks because my brother recommended how much he loved that place. They won’t be seeing me again. I’ll try the tavern on the same block. Hopefully I’ll have a more pleasant experience. I will say The pizza we did order was pretty tasty. Oh yes the busboy and woman server were the most pleasant part of the experience! Warm smiles and nice hospitality i hope they get the gratuity!
Bit crowded when it comes to seating unless you get a booth. Fresh pasta and great pizza! Been coming here a lot and always enjoyed it
