The tour is a fairly reasonable price and there is a good amount of parking to reduce walking before and after the tour which is an hour long. The tours of our buildings and the gardens is on your own. The building is based on original plans but is not original, although furnishings are period. Some may even be from previous residents if I recall correctly. The history center has additional background to explore, a gift shop, and a restaurant although the nearby downtown has a lot to offer. The hour long tour is decent but feels a bit long. It can be hot inside. There are window seats available to rest, but if you have a large tour, they may not be as available. There are some stairs but they are not too bad to climb. You can opt out of touring the upstairs and basement after the first floor if there is an issue.

Present for July 4th festivities in 2018 and 2026. Both events were of the highest caliber of authenticity and attention to detail. Great work by all involved.

The lady giving the main house tour was phenomenal, charming and knowledgeable. The tour was interesting and she gave a lot of great context. The staff at the Kitchen office were much less interesting and informative. I think this is a big. There was a lot of historical potential just not much interactive. The stables are a neat stop. The gardens very nice. The main lawn is poorly maintained seems like they could really make this a nice pace to spend time with a little investment.

An amazing reproduction of the original governor’s mansion for the mid 18th c. The interpreter/guide we had on our tour was exceptional! Informative & knowledgeable about the history & time period! The grounds of the palace are simply beautiful & go right up to the waterfront. Worth the trip!!

Beautiful buildings & grounds! Thoroughly enjoyed our tour guide who was very informative & friendly! She definitely loves sharing history and does so in an engaging manner. The lady at the History Museum desk & everyone at the palace grounds were all very kind. The gift shop is as expected of a history museum; books, mass produced items of their period, private label souvenirs & food. But they also have a few local artists if you pay close attention & I did pick up some unique gifts. The lady working was fairly rude. Not enough to ruin my day, just enough to make me roll my eyes.

I really enjoyed visiting Tryon Palace, which is within easy walking distance from the main part of town. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and it was fascinating to see all of the rooms—not just the architecture and design, but also the stories behind them. The gardens were beautiful, though small compared to some of the grander homes, but still very well maintained.

We had a wonderful time visiting Tyron Palace! The experience was both enjoyable and very informative. The ticket purchase process was easy and convenient right at the entrance, which is housed in a charming little building that sets the tone for the visit. Tours are well organized and run on the half hour starting at 10:30 a.m., making it simple to plan your day. The guides were knowledgeable and added great context, which really brought the history to life. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I would definitely recommend a visit!
