We had a wonderful whale watching trip out of Morro Bay with perfect sunny weather and dozens of tail-slapping and breaching whales! The tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and I learned a lot on the trip. Highly recommend!

We had a great time, saw quite a few whales right away (maybe 1/2 hour out). It wasn't choppy at all, not smooth either but it is the ocean. Perfect all year around. Check the weather and check ocean conditions. Take Dramamine just incase. Dress warm, because you are in the ocean (few miles out). Nice boat, very friendly people. Good times! We will be back. Cheer.

Booked a whale watching experience with Sub Sea Tours on a Saturday and was not disappointed. We saw 3 grey whales, and lots of sea lions one our excursion. The captain and the marine specialist really know their stuff, they were super friendly, welcoming and answered any questions we had. We had such a wonderful experience while visiting Morro Bay.

Nov 2025, hubby took the underwater view tour. The captain was very friendly informative. You take a ladder to the bottom of the boat which has viewing windows. They sailed across the bay to view the wildlife. The captain threw fish food alongside the boat to attrack the fish. Hubby was very happy to make this tour. The views were amazing. Tour took about 45 mins. The service rep at the desk was very friendly, accommodating and informative.

My girlfriend and I went whale watching here, and it was a great experience! Every crew member from check in, the captain and the gentleman giving facts about the whales were amazing! Very friendly, very knowledgeable, and we ended up seeing some grey whales! I definitely recommend a whale watching tour here!

We had such a great time whale watching! I went with my parents and it was an unforgettable experience. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly, sharing fun facts about the whales and the area throughout the trip. We saw several whales up close, and the music on board made the whole outing even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was relaxed, fun, and well organized. Overall, a fantastic experience — I’d absolutely recommend it and would love to go again!

Highly recommend Sub Sea Tours! We booked a whale watching trip in mid-June 2026 and it was incredible. We could not believe how many dolphins we saw up close (playing in the wake and swimming right under the front of the boat!) and how many humpback whales we saw, including them coming up to feed very close by. We also saw huge groups of sea lions, and some cool jellies as well. Dakota and Sam were wonderful guides - making us laugh and providing interesting facts, but also pausing the commentary during the most awe-inspiring moments, allowing nature and the animals to speak for themselves :) Our guides were also very respectful of the animals - not chasing them down like some tours do, but instead keeping a respectful distance and remaining in place if the whales came close on their own. It was an amazing experience, and I would definitely book with them again!
