A beautiful place to visit and stroll around for a while. Had paintings, portraits, sculptures, glasswork, a sculpture garden, an outdoor garden overlooking the pond. The pond has ducks and turtles to enjoy. There is a kid's section that is hands-on and fun for all ages.

Visitor notes
Definitely a great stop to visit if you are visiting Montgomery. There is no entrance fee for visitation and have a receptionist to greet you with informations. The exhibitions feature mostly Americans artist ranging with a nice collection of porcelain and sculptures.
This is one of my favorite places to visit when I need to clear my mind. The art museum is free to enter and has a peaceful, thoughtful atmosphere with an impressive collection. I love spending quiet time here just walking through the exhibits and taking everything in. Right outside, there’s a large park with beautiful views and a relaxing vibe. You’ll often see ducks and turtles moving around the water — it adds so much life and charm to the space. Altogether, it’s a perfect combination of art, nature, and calm. Highly recommend if you’re nearby.
I had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. As someone who has worked in fine arts museums, I can say this one truly stands out. What impressed me most was their incredible children’s hands-on play area—it’s unlike anything I’ve seen in a fine arts museum. It’s thoughtfully designed, highly engaging, and genuinely welcoming for children of all ages and abilities. You can tell a lot of intention went into creating a space where kids can explore art in a meaningful, interactive way while still respecting the integrity of a fine arts environment. The entire museum felt inclusive and accessible, which is not always easy to achieve in this setting. It struck a perfect balance between being family-friendly and maintaining a high-quality art experience. The staff were also exceptional—warm, knowledgeable, and eager to help. They offered great recommendations on where to take my children within the museum, which made our visit even more enjoyable and seamless. This is a gem in Montgomery and absolutely worth visiting, whether you’re an art professional, a parent, or just someone looking for a meaningful and enriching experience.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect when I walked into the museum; and I came away utterly impressed with the collection of art, the quality of the facility and grounds, and the greeter near the main entrance. World class museum in my opinion. And it was the first time ever to see a Wyeth painting. And you can’t beat the price. I wish certain galleries in the building were open, but the museum was in process of adding more art work. Can’t really complain about that. I plan to revisit next time I am in Montgomery.
This place eat great to visit with my girlfriend. Loved all the displays and paintings. Very quiet and a great place to relax. Staff were very friendly as well.
This place is a must visit if you are in montgomery and want a quiet place with no crowd. Its bigger than we expected and have nice outdoor space and activities for kids. Also they are having fall event soon that we will be attending.
Beautiful museum! They have a really impressive collection of wonderful art. The sculpture garden is so serene and lovely. I cannot believe this place has free admission. I highly recommend a stop here.
