This review is long overdue but still worth sharing. As holiday travelers, we were so fortunate to discover Luminaria’s Christmas Day brunch, which exceeded our expectations in price, quality, service and portions. Highly recommend for next year! We had a lovely experience.

Visitor notes
I recently visited Luminaries Restaurant & Special Events for brunch and honestly left disappointed, especially for the price. It came out to about $119 per adult and around $35 per child, so I expected a much better experience overall. I don’t mind paying top dollar for a nice restaurant, but the quality and service just didn’t match the cost. ( 3 adults 1 child ) The food was okay at best, probably 3 out of 5 stars. A few years ago the food here was much better. They used to have a Mexican brunch buffet style setup that was actually really good, and I wish they would bring that back. The current menu just didn’t stand out and wasn’t worth the price. The biggest issue was the service, definitely 1 out of 5 stars. Our server kept telling us “no” to multiple simple requests, and at one point even told me to “relax” with an attitude, which was pretty unprofessional. We also paid for the $30 per person bottomless mimosas, but the drinks would take around 30 minutes each time. It honestly felt like they were purposely taking too long to bring them out. During our entire 2-hour brunch/lunch, our table of 3 people only received about 4–5 drinks total, which defeats the purpose of paying extra for bottomless mimosas. Overall, the experience didn’t feel worth the money. Between the poor service, average food, and overpriced drinks, I probably won’t be coming back.
We haven't been here for the longest. Probably more than 10 years. This is an awesome property. With ample parking and beautiful views. Top notch place for events. Very romantic if you're on a date. I was going to give the service 5 stars, but had to hold back because it took them more than 20 minutes to get out desserts. That was just to long. Other than that, the food was good. We ordered the skirt steaks, ribeye, salmon and the 4 choices of meat grill. I didn't think they are open for lunch, but definitely nice place to show off to new friends.
I celebrated my birthday at Luminarias and had such a wonderful experience. From start to finish, the evening felt special. Our server, Evan, was absolutely spectacular. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He checked in at just the right times, made great recommendations, and kept the evening running smoothly. We later learned that the restaurant was actually understaffed that night, which honestly surprised us because the service never felt slow or chaotic. Evan handled everything with professionalism and a great attitude, and we truly appreciated the extra effort. The food and drinks were delicious as well, beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The whole experience made my birthday dinner feel memorable and relaxing. Thank you to Evan and the team for such a great night. We’ll definitely be back! 🎉🍽️🥂
My bestie and I hadn't been in a while, so we decided to go here for brunch. We arrived a little early from the resy time but they had no problem seating us right away. We sat outside as the views are really nice. We ordered the bottomless mimosas, which all the flavors were really good. I ordered French toast and she ordered chilaquiles with steak. Both were flavorful and portion size was good. Overall, good food, good views. We will definitely be back to try the dinner menu.
We had a blast!! Everything about this place was 5 stars. We celebrated my aunt's 80th birthday and I don't think we could have had a better venue. The food was great, the view was beautiful and staff was very attentive! Thank you!
The food was decent, but nothing stood out. Plus, there are no vegetarian options. The salads are basic. So, ordering sides to make a meal that comes out very pricy. The fries were perfect & crispy. Cocktails are good. The espresso martini was exceptional. The lava cake was delicious. The view of the San Gabriel mountains is great. Our server Evan made the evening even better with his sense of humor.
I had a wonderful dinner here on my last night in the LA area. The restaurant ambiance was wonderful at night (the reservation was for 7:00) and we were on the covered balcony where there was plenty of room and seating. The steak and fish was wonderfully cooked, they had unique drinks and we paid what I felt was fair price for the wonderful night out my partner and I had.
