Montebello Barnyard Zoo

Super fun. Park was small but detailed. We did the pony rides and we fed all the goats and the burrow and the cow. There was a turkey and bunnies. There were pigs, ostriches, and donkeys. (But you can only pet the goats and the cows.) Oh, and the horses. Really fun!

The petting zoo doesn’t have its own parking lot, and the entrance is behind the park. The petting area is very small and has a strong smell. My young child couldn’t tolerate the odor, though the other kids didn’t seem bothered by it. Be sure to buy tickets through Groupon—I don’t think it’s worth paying full price at the entrance.

The name of this establishment can be somewhat misleading, as it is more of a small farm than a traditional zoo. The animals on-site include rabbits, pigs, roosters, chickens, goats, sheep, ducks, a couple of cows, tortoises, and donkeys. It offers a pleasant and educational experience for young children, particularly since visitors are provided with feed pellets to hand-feed some of the animals. The entire barn area can be toured in approximately five minutes. I recommend purchasing tickets through Groupon, as it offers great savings I paid $8 for two tickets and found the experience worthwhile.

took my 3yr old nephew to the Montebello Barnyard Zoo last weekend and had a really nice time overall! It’s definitely on the smaller side, which honestly worked out great for us—no wait to get in and easy to walk through without feeling overwhelmed. Perfect for younger kids. Parking was probably the only downside. Since you park in the main park area, it was pretty packed with baseball games and birthday parties going on. If you’re going mid-afternoon, just be prepared to circle a bit for a spot. Pro tip: get the Groupon! We grabbed a family 4-pack for $13 way cheaper than paying at the gate, which made it feel like a really good deal. As for activities, pony rides were $10 and the tractor ride was $12. My nephew skipped the ponies but loved the tractor ride. Feeding the animals costs a couple bucks ($2–$3 for pellets), but just keep in mind you can only feed the llamas, goats, and one pony. Still fun though! He also got to interact with a chicken, which he thought was super cool. Overall, it’s a cute, simple spot for a quick outing with kids. Just go in knowing it’s small and plan ahead for parking, and you’ll have a great time!

My daughter is 11 and I have been coming here with her since she was born and it's always been awesome to come see and visit the animals. The staff is always inviting and friendly and very knowledgeable with all the information for the animals. We will continue to keep this place in our outings, periodically.

I took my wife for her Birthday and we had a blast i see alot of people complaining about price i don't mine it helps to keep this little farm open and pay the employees who were super nice to us and very helpful 😊 we spent like 2 hrs there and we are definitely going to go back my wife loved it.

Being honest, the zoo is a little disappointing. I loved the experience of seeing the animals but the price seems a bit high for what you get. I did not buy food which is 2 dollars on top of the entrance fee which is 9. If you come with kids I do recommend getting food so they can feed the animals wince that is probably the best experience inside the zoo area itself. The place includes other activities which I didn't experience but I can tell that they seem fun for kids. If you come here, have in mind that the zoo is small but feels like a barn so if that is what you like, you will have a great time :)
