I could spend days here! The exhibits are clean, usually you're able to see critters in every enclosure, and the informative signs in front of each animal are fun to read from, with a great variety of animals to learn about. Today we spent the extra $4/person to walk through the pollinators section...worth it! The giant robotic bugs were super cool to walk through and check out the various insects on a large scale.

Wonderful zoo! The exhibits are extremely nice! The zoo is large and doesn’t have a ton of shade. Be prepared to spend a long time or plan ahead to be sure you can hit the exhibits that matter most to your family.

I haven't been to the zoo since we moved away in 1999. It is great to see the improvements they've made, wile keeping the heart of what made this zoo so special. The animals are the center of the show and you can tell they work hard to promote a natural habitat while providing enrichment for the animals. We only had 2.5 hours and we saw most of the exhibits. We could have easily used 4-5 hours or more to really enjoy all the experiences. Can't wait to go back!

Milwaukee public zoo is literally the best. It’s very huge and has lots of different sections to explore all the different animals. I highly recommend for families to come because it gives kids to walk around and explore instead of being on there devices. I absolutely love the playground section of the zoo because of how huge the playground is. The only con is that there is no bathroom nearby the playground area. The train would always be my favorite part of the zoo because of the ride around the huge zoo. They have other fun activities families can do like rope course, merry go round, and train. There is also a lot of interactive learning material for all ages to learn about the animals. I forgot to mention they do have a VR interact with the area section, but it cost extra money.

This is one of the iconic stops that you need to see in Milwaukee if you're visiting. I visited for family free day. Unfortunately quite a few animals can't be outside if it's too cold. I was hoping to see the elephants in the new elephant area. But they were not outside. There are quite a few places to get something to eat or drink. There's a lot of informational signage which I like. I went through half the zoo in 4 hours and didn't see enough because the weather was a little iffy and I ran out of time. I believe they close at 4:30 p.m. but don't quote me. One of my favorite places in the zoo is their aquarium of Wisconsin fish. I am angler and it's a great pleasure to see them swimming. There are several huge fish for their species in this tank. They also have a Amazon or African species tank which has some huge fish. I never miss this area during a visit. They have a automated cafeteria or you can order your food on a kiosk and it comes out a porthole in the wall next to the kitchen which reminds me of kind of a Star Trek thing. They also have a cashier if you're paying it in cash. Some of the other things of note are the overhead ski type lift that goes over the zoo. There's also a jungle gym type thing for kids to climb ropes and stuff like that. They have a large carousel for kids. And also a really nice train ride that goes through the zoo. It's definitely worth the ticket price to ride the train. I took lots of pictures and I will add them as I can as you can only put 50 at a time.

I go here for my anniversary every year, and would come more often if I lived closer! The attendants and keepers aswell as photographers are so knowledgeable on what's happening in the zoo, and are more than happy to talk about it! I love the birds and fish.

Lots of walking, wonderful zoo. We went for the first time in decades, all the upgrades to the environments were amazing. Love all the new added activities to the enclosures. First time visiting during a winter storm as well, bundled up and had a peaceful and quiet, wonderful day! Thank you for preserving some of the nostalgia of our childhood, the old doors and of course the 'Mold-O-Rama" (the smell definitely brought back memories) through out the grounds. The woman in the primate building was very nice, informative, and engaging as well.

My son and his friends are 9 year olds and they enjoyed this zoo a lot. Love the variety of animals. Playground is large enough for their age. My son did a school project about red pandas so we were super happy we saw them in real life.
