Atwater Park

Absolutely stunning beach with a gorgeous, endless view of Lake Michigan! Beautiful sunrises, flowers, and trees. I love visiting anytime of the year; all the seasons have something beautiful about them and you can truly appreciate the beauty at Atwater.

This was an absolutely beautiful park and beach. We liked how the benches were arranged along the stairs. The beach itself was very clean, lifeguards were on duty, the whole area was really really nice. The statue at the top of the area was incredibly gorgeous as well. However, the bathrooms were absolutely horrendous, garbage everywhere, smelled terrible. I fully understand that it's an outdoor, free, public area, but I know they can do better than that

My favorite beach in the area! It gets pretty busy, so I try to come during the week if I can. As far as I know, it only has street parking.

Beautiful place to take your family, especially during the summer time. I walk here regularly and the sights are beautiful. I have 1 complaint. They make you use port-a-johns and there's only 2 for men, 2 for women. Idk if adding more port-a-johns is the solution, or maybe to open up the regular restrooms....it gets packed and busy and with the amount of ppl, 2 restrooms just arent enough! But overall, its a beautiful place to hike, have your lil ones play, swim or even bike!

Really awesome experience walking through the gate and seeing the beach below. The walk down the path and up the steps was really nice too. Really nice view at sunset. The only downside is there's no bathrooms at the bottom. You have to go all the way back up for the bathroom.

Always love this spot. Haven't been able to get to it for most of the year due to construction. My return was for the Northern Lights this week. Also enjoyed the moon rise.

Atwater Park in Shorewood is a gem that’s nice year-round, with summer sunrises here being the best. The park’s bluff-top playground and picnic areas make it family-friendly, and the paved path or stairs down to the sandy beach offer options depending on your mood or energy level (some use them to workout!). Parking can fill up on busy summer days, so plan accordingly. If you want a quieter alternative to the busier city beaches, Atwater Park is a refreshing, clean spot that feels like a breath of fresh air right near Milwaukee.
