Visited today for the Freedom Plane National Tour and was extremely impressed. Seeing original founding-era documents up close was a once in a lifetime experience and worth the trip. The exhibit was well organized, educational, and gave visitors a unique opportunity to connect with American history in a very personal way. If you're in South Florida, I highly recommend taking advantage of this special exhibit while it's in Miami. A fantastic experience for history lovers, families, and anyone looking to learn something new.

This museum is a true hidden gem in downtown. We were genuinely impressed by the quality of the exhibits. Everything is displayed beautifully, making the history come alive. We particularly enjoyed the sections on aviation and the immigration stories that shaped the city. It’s not just dry facts; there are so many cool artifacts and interactive parts. A must-visit for history buffs

The Miami History Museum is located in the heart of downtown Miami. The place is well maintained and the outside areas are quite nice, you can actually take some good pictures around the buildings. When it comes to the inside though, it’s nothing particularly special. In my opinion, this should probably be a free museum. I live within walking distance and was able to get free admission through the Miami Public Library Museum Pass program, and honestly if I had paid the entrance fee I would probably have been a bit disappointed. That being said, I would still recommend stopping by briefly to snap some photos of the buildings. The architecture is beautiful and different from the typical style you see around Miami, so it’s worth a quick stop if you’re in the area.

It was just okay. Fantastic docent who was informative and helpful. Museum itself was par, nothing great or special because most exhibits were superficial, but that may be due to the limited space. One building had some interesting history, but not enough or extensive enough. Good Black and minority history section. The second building was disappointing and lacked focus or cohesiveness.

Went to see Freedom Plane exhibit. Spent several hours viewing the other excellent exhibits on Dade History and the Seminoles.

Came to museum for the viewing of founding documents during 250 year anniversary. We were treated like VIPs. (I am not) Kindness, smiles, we'll organized. Especially great for small kids since most of what we saw was 3 dimensional... surfboards, a full size real trolley, native American ceremonial dresses, much more. Plan for a 2 hour visit should be fine. Lockers and nice family style bathrooms make it all convenient.

Bring your student ID for free/discounted entry! This was such a lovely surprise. We were in the area and decided to stop in and realized belatedly that we should’ve added it to our itinerary. Their hours of operation is rather limited so we couldn’t view the entire museum but the little that we saw was well worth it. You could easily spend the whole day here and it wouldn’t be enough. I really enjoyed it and the staff were so knowledgeable and kind. They had some interactive activities that we were struggling with, and they were very helpful. Definitely a must if you’re in the area! (Sort of unrelated but I got chased by an unhoused/homeless person on my way there 😂).
