After a long work week and traveling back from Fort Richardson in Jacksboro, I needed a healthy, peaceful walk this morning. City Lake Park in Mesquite was the perfect answer. It was great to just relax and enjoy nature at this quiet city park. It's well-equipped with restrooms, park benches, and picnic areas with grills. There’s a nice sidewalk for walking that loops around the lake. I also noted fishing is allowed, but visitors must follow all TPWD rules and regulations. It’s very dog-friendly, too. If you're looking for a quiet place to relax and walk when visiting Mesquite, this is a great place to start.

Good for walking and strolling with the kids near the 'lake' and ducks! Baseball field and summer time pool! We enjoy coming to the annual fishing event! 🎣
Not so good for biking with family.
The upgrade is Awesome, but the city should work on offering more shaded areas and more Tables that don't require reservations.

Nice moderately clean park my kids loved seeing the ducks and turtles in the lake pond we will definitely be back also has very nice and spacious picnic areas with the tables we're clean but w ducks around no chance so bring a table cloth for sure lol!
It's a cute place. Families enjoy gathering here for the water park, the ducks, or just family celebrations. Lots of trees and the veteran's memorial is clean. Fishing is also allowed here. The lake has some trash in it and bikes are not allowed on the path around the lake. Besides that, the city lake park is a nice spot with lots of shade.
