The Hollywood Museum

The two teens and I loved taking our time as we walked thru the museum! It was filled with classic movie collections, readings, wardrobe and all things cool! We loved the set ups and it was even more exciting as we walked down to the basement to see the classic horror films and horror movies sets! A bit creepy but it was meant to be! The whole feel of it is nostalgia and it was walking into the times that made Hollywood great! We’ve gone to thee museums in the area but this was our favorite for all the original items they have! We spent over two hours and love soaking it all in as we took many pictures! Some highlights besides the basement were the Scooby Doo van, the Rocky fighter robe, Pee Wee Herman Bike, Star Wars Vader, Happy Days, Lavern and Shirley , planet of the Apes and sooo much more!! You will not be disappointed by visiting this museum, it is conveniently located right on the strip and makes a great spotlight to the many things on the Hollywood area!

"My wife requested to come here for Mother's Day, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much is packed into this building! It wasn't crowded at all, which made it easy to explore the different floors. The 'spooky' floor in the basement was definitely a highlight—really cool setups and memorabilia. I honestly didn't expect to see so much history and variety here. I’ll definitely be visiting again and bringing friends along to check out this hidden gem."

I’ve been coming to this place for years and it never changes and only gets more endearing. One of the better icons of the Boulevard, and more fun than the overpriced Academy museum. Fans of Old Hollywood will dig the autograph collection. Come for the “Nothing is Sacred” dioramas, Stay for the beautiful bathrooms!

A hidden gem in the heart of Hollywood! I really enjoyed my visit to the Hollywood Museum. It’s packed with original costumes, props, and memorabilia from classic films to modern blockbusters. The basement dungeon (where they showcase horror and sci-fi) was spooky and fun, and the Marilyn Monroe exhibit was a highlight! The museum is located inside the historic Max Factor building, so the setting itself feels like part of Hollywood history. It’s not very big, but there’s a ton to see. If you’re a movie or TV fan, you’ll definitely appreciate all the detail. It can get a bit crowded, and the lighting in some areas could be improved, but overall it was a fun and nostalgic experience. Definitely worth a stop if you’re near Hollywood Blvd.

Great price for so much to see. 4 floors of Hollywood! I’m a huge Wizard Of Oz fan and seeing one of the original pairs alone made it worth the cost of the ticket! I do feel like 1 visit isn’t enough to see all that they offer, as I said it’s huge with 4 floors! I’m also a huge fan of Marilyn Monroe so I spent quite a bit of time in there. The main levels was a lot of old Hollywood which was fascinating. Overall there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Reasonable ticket price. Easy access/great location. Famous actors/actress featured primarily those from 1940s-1950s time frame. Some mentioned of others from various time frames. Definitely an older Hollywood museum. Doesn't take long to walk through the entire museum (approx 40min - 1 hr ish).

FANTASTIC TREASURE TROVE OF HOLLYWOOD MEMORABILIA! Classic Hollywood costumes and props galore! More historic stuff than I saw at the official Academy museum. Four floors of costumes, props, set pieces, autographed headshots, jewelry, cars and more. The basement is for horror fans, but isn't too scary. The first floor features Factor's beautiful building, makeup, costumes and headshots of the most famous movie stars or yesteryear. There are superheroes, singers, and other famous folk on the second and third floors. Well displayed and maintained, it's a joy for movie lovers. All housed in the classic art Deco Max Factor building. He was one of Hollywood's most famous makeup artists, and of course started his line of makeup. It's clear this collection was made and is maintained with a love of old Hollywood. Admission is only $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, and a mere $5 for kids! If you love classic Hollywood, you'll love the Hollywood museum!
