Used to be a good place with Dr. Schwartz and Dr. Menen. But here's what happened… My friend took her seven year-old healthy cat in for a well Animal check up. He was prancing around the waiting room in his normal, proud self-assured manner. They took him in the back, took blood no problem. Then they came to tell her that when they tried to get a urine sample, he became very stressed and that she would have to get the urine sample at home. Then they told her his breathing became unusual so they did an ultrasound, and found turbulent blood flow in his heart. They suspected he was in congestive heart failure and gave him a diuretic. They told her to take him immediately to animal emergency hospital to see a cardiologist. At Emergency, they took him back and started working on him. They reported to her that his lungs were filled with fluid and they gave him more diuretic. They told her they would need to keep him one or two nights to stabilize him. She went home. As soon as she got home, they called her and said that she should change her Yes CPR to a DNR because they thought he would not make it through the night! She went back to the emergency hospital to see her cat. He was lying there, unable to make eye contact. They had given him more IV diuretic. They said he was uncomfortable. She agreed to Euthanasia. This was a seven year old strong Healthy, handsome active cat before she took him to Overland! What happened when they were trying to get urine? Why did they need a urine sample on a healthy cat? 🐈‍⬛ Her handsome son is dead!

We brought our 15yo tabby cat in last minute in a Saturday because he had lost a lost of weight and was having a hard time eating and swallowing. We first went to the VCA who said he probably had a tooth abscess and would need several extractions amounting to over $5k. We came to OVC for a second opinion. Dr jones took a look and told us with pragmatism, directness and compassion that it was most likely oral squamous cell carcinoma. He answered all our questions about treatment and outlined all the options but never once did he deceive us into believe it was a good diagnosis. His transparency and bedside manner was so professional and we are forever grateful for being so kind and straightforward. He helped us prepare to make our boy comfortable and gave us options to ease his pain. It was perhaps the best delivery of bad news one can hope for and we are so grateful. Edit: received a hand-written condolences card from Dr. Jones after our sweet boy passed. The thoughtfulness is unparalleled

Though the doctor I saw and the nurse were nice it doesn’t make up for how expensive a simple vet visit was. They charged me $7 to dispose of the needle they used - $112 for a shot that is usually $80 max I’ve paid for at previous facilities. On top of that, they also charged me a $95 vet visit when they knew I just needed a shot. They also didn’t sweep the floor in the room from the previous animal that was in there before letting me in with my cat who already has a compromised immune system and is completely indoor. Unfortunately my usual vet is in between facilities at the moment so I thought I could come back to where I use to go pre pandemic comfortably but now I will never come back and I never would recommend for how unnecessarily expensive it is and cleanliness. Keep your pets safe and your wallets.

Overland Veterinary Clinic is my new favorite vet clinic. They squeezed me in at the last minute before my vet went on vacation. Didn't require expensive extra testing. Dr. Jones is the best vet I've ever had!

I've been a loyal customer for 13+ years, even commuting from North Hollywood for the last 5 since we moved. Kim and Ricky are THE BEST dental techs, and Maggie at the front desk is wonderful. They've introduced new protocols in the last few months and every time I've called to make an appointment, Maggie explained them to me patiently, making sure I had a clear understanding prior to booking. Will keep coming back because of the excellent customer service by Maggie as well as the tender and thorough dental work by Kim and Ricky.

I used to recommend this place widely but over the years it has gone downhill and now, I have moved to another vet. The constant spam and promotions are incessant with no way to opt-out. They are constantly selling. I used to drive 30 minutes out of the way to come here and paid more because I wanted to support a small business, but this was an era that is no longer when it was operated by someone else. I don't know what happened but I don't recommend this vet anymore.

I've been bringing for many years and many dogs to this vet clinic. I'm very happy with the care they are receiving. I have been seeing Dr. Forsythe and love him. He's conservative and very knowledgeable. Dr. Jones is another doctor with many years of experience. Everyone there is so friendly . I highly recommend them

I have a little Russian Blue Kitty who has been given the most wonderful care by Dr Bhuta and her staff. They are on time , sweet , caring and welcoming. Dr Bhuta is equally sweet, caring and a fabulous doctor. I have the utmost confidence in her ability to give the finest care possible. My little friend agrees and gives "Paws up" to all I have said. Thank you.
