Great, hearty, and flavorful sandwiches! Friendly service, and a historical "Hollywood" landmark! What's not to love? You can literally see and feel the almost 100-year old history of the building when you sit down to eat. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, even the ones who weren't assigned to my table. The last time I came here, they were filming a tv show in part of the restaurant, so it was closed off. But they still let us patrons in to dine. I ordered the Pastrami Reuben and the Corned Beef Reuben. If you are torn between the two, I suggest the Corned Beef Reuben; it is slightly better, although both are good! Of the ones I tried, my favorite side options ranked are: 🏆1 - onion rings (plus $1.50), 2 - Fries (needed salt) 3 - potato salad (too sweet).

Visitor notes
A New Yorker that loves deli, eager to try what are considered LA's finest. This was a disappointment. The pastrami was outstanding. But everything else was flat. The cole slaw was tasteless. The matzo ball soup unexceptional. The pickles were, in a word, goyishe. And the Apple stuffed coffee cake I had for dessert was nothing to write home about. Not sure what all the fuss is about. But if you're in the market for just a sandwich and nothing more, you can't go wrong. The service was attentive and prompt. On a side note the interior looks like it was ripped out of 1962, which shouldn't be a bad thing, but the place looks a bit tired.
The potato salad is fantastic. We had the French dip with beef and the pastrami with Cole slaw and Russian dressing on rye. Very satisfying. I think the pastrami is better at Langer's, but it's still very much worth a visit at least once. Relative to Langer's though, I'd recommended Canter's to out of towners. The area is not as jarring as McArthur Park if you aren't used to the city.
Fabulous as always. Great food and service. Marianne was our waitress today and super nice. The portions are huge(someone stated that they are small but we disagree). The decor starting to show its age, yet we will always come by when we fly into Los Angeles.
I gotta be honest. I come here a lot. I think today the AC was broke. But the food was awesome. We had a great server. She was tall had freckles. Had an amazing personality and she was so observant and friendly. Thank you to the amazing server. I've been here a lot and finally brought my girlfriend to try you guys out. She doesn't eat red meat so she was able to have her first Turkey Rueben. And she was extremely impressed. Our sandwiches were fresh and delicious. Andwe got a strawberry cheesecake and a carrot cake togo. Didn't take pictures since we were leaving. But they were both delicious
Oh. My. God. This place was absolutely amazing. We came here with our 4 kids and they absolutely loved the food. My husband and I shared the open face brisket sandwich and the Reuben pastrami. I had the matzo ball soup as well and it was so tasty. And Marianna our waitress was great: so kind, so beautiful, generous, and nice to our kids. Thank you for a great experience, Ms. Marianna! We will be back! ✨👏
Classic diner. Iconic establishment. Great food and good vibes. Can't wait to go back soon.
my man and I came here for lunch and it was great. we got a Reuben with onion rings, and a grilled cheese with fries and we split both. it was great! our server was Jimmy and he was on the spot. last time I came here, the server wasn’t great or even nice and the food wasn’t perfect, but this time everything was great. you do have to pay for parking somehow but the lot was easy to use and we got in and out quickly. we have some more gift certificates and can’t wait to be back.
