Casa Enrique

Great spot! Came with a friend who’s been wanting to check them out. We went early and had a ressy so we were seated right away. They do have an outdoor patio which is nice for the warmer months. They have lots of cocktail options, too many to choose from but we really liked the ones we got, the Aguachile margarita and Jamaica margarita. Very unique! We started with the Aguachile de camarón that was extremely delicious! Highly recommend getting it. Has a little kick but nothing crazy. We then got an order of the lengua and pastor tacos and shared. Both were delicious but I think I liked the lengua more. Really great spot!

My friends and I were excited to finally try Casa Enrique after hearing so much about it and seeing it recognized in the Michelin Guide. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to our expectations. The food was good, but nothing really stood out as memorable. I ordered the pork shoulder special, which I enjoyed, but it wasn’t a dish that would make me rush back. One of my friends ordered a soup dish and was particularly disappointed with it. The atmosphere was probably the biggest challenge for us. We were seated in a corner at the end of the dining room, and despite the restaurant not being especially crowded, the music was very loud. It was difficult to have a conversation at our table and even hard to hear the staff at times. The seating also felt quite tight, and we noticed the guests seated next to us struggling to get in and out of their seats comfortably. Service was another area that could be improved. While I didn’t personally have any major issues, several people in our group felt that some interactions came across as rushed and somewhat unfriendly, as if the staff were exhausted and didn’t really want to be there. Overall, the meal was decent, but given the reputation and expectations surrounding the restaurant, we left feeling underwhelmed. It’s not a bad restaurant by any means, but it didn’t deliver the experience we were hoping for.

Casa Enrique is good, but has dropped off a bit in terms of creative spark and meticulous service. Most of what we ordered was tasty. It’s comforting and accessible, but it stops short of being truly outstanding or memorable. The Rajas con Crema gets an honorable mention for being the least liked and eaten dish. It felt like an afterthought in preparation, presentation, and flavor (on paper sounds delicious but in person it was like a bunch of random ingredients thrown together with no seasoning. It could be so much better if refined and tweaked). While the portions were appropriate, our server could have guided us through the menu more efficiently (like not letting us order so much rice but silver lining more leftovers). It’s a solid 3.5 star experience, but I wouldn't rush back or say it’s worth crossing boroughs for ($18 guac, $20 cocktails). This kitchen plays it very safe and unfortunately makes for a static meal. I hope they consider taking bigger risks with unique ingredients and bolder flavor profiles/textures.

This restaurant is a gem located in Long Island City, and it was a short train ride from Manhattan. Our server from last night, Marcelo, was super friendly and attentive ( 🌟 )! The food was homey yet classy with bold flavor and just the right amount of spices. We had Sopecitos de Chirozo (well seasoned and earthy) Cocktails de Camarones (fresh and zesty), Pozele de Mi Tia (deep and savory), Chille Relleno (rich and creamy) and their roasted pork shoulder special (moist and soft). For desserts, their cheese ice cream blended with rich milk and a mild cheese tang was a delight to our palette, and their Tres Lèche cake was moist and creamy melted in our mouth. Last but not the least, their cocktails were fresh and delicious! They also have a decent selection or wine. We will definitely come back!

Casa Enrique continues to be one of the best restaurants in Long Island City and it fully deserves its reputation. Every time we visit, the food is consistent, fresh, and full of bold flavor. You can taste the care in the cooking, whether it’s the guacamole, ceviche, enchiladas, or their signature mole. The dishes are beautifully balanced without being overly complicated, which makes the experience feel both comforting and special. The service is another reason we keep returning. The staff is warm, patient, and genuinely welcoming. Even on busy nights, they make you feel taken care of and always offer thoughtful recommendations. It is clear they care about creating a positive experience for every guest. The atmosphere is relaxed but polished, making it a great spot for a casual dinner or celebrating something meaningful. It has become one of those rare neighborhood restaurants where you want to bring friends and family just to share how good it is. We also love that the quality has never slipped no matter how popular it gets. Casa Enrique is a true gem in Queens. If you are in LIC and want an amazing meal with great service, this should be at the top of your list.

The food is absolutely delicious! The suadero taco was splendid. The tender beef and the crunch of the refreshing radish and carrot slices contrast very nicely. The cochinito chiapaneco were well-balanced with the beans and rice, the ribs themselves were spicy with a touch of salt. For desert, we had the pastel tres leches, the cake itself was super moist and absorbed the condensed milk at the bottom , creating a sponge effect in your mouth. Overall, the experience was very great.

had high expectations since i have heard great things about this place and also know of their past michelin star. we came for brunch and tried a few items: complementary chicharron with sauce (addictive), guac (must get), chilaquiles red & green (i preferred the green but red was tastier), french toast, huevos con chorizo (enjoyed the beans the most), and tacos.

The place has a modern feel, the service was excellent, very attentive. The sauce and the tortilla work is very impressive. We got the shrimp ceviche that was a special of the day and it had an interesting fusion sauce, with Asian notes to it. The sopecitos were outstanding. I thought the carne asada lacked flavor a bit. But the tortillas were some of the best I have had. The flautas were disappointing. The entire filling was super crispy and over fried so there was no texture contrasts in the dish.
