I wont go back. I took my very obviously sick Boxer on a Saturday. The vet gave her a steroid injection and wanted to run test. $700. Told me the results would be back Monday. They got mixed up and they weren’t back by Monday but it wouldn’t have mattered because by Monday it was obvious she wouldn’t live. They made her an appt on Tuesday and a different vet put her to sleep for me. I feel like the first vet was just making money off of me and extended the suffering of my beautiful Brindle baby who was only 5 yrs old. He called a couple of days after to tell me her results showed lymphoma.

After thousands and thousands of dollars paid over five years their admin had the nerve to issue me a “warning” for missing an appointment. I do not recall signing a W2 and I don’t believe he had a badge but he still felt entitled to issue me a warning. Called me on a weekend evening in my home & issued me a warning to my voicemail. The appointment was for a “just in case” xray. We are disabled and don’t get to pick & choose when we can make appointments. I emailed about it, said they should retrain their agent how to speak to people, now they no longer wish my business. Thousands and thousands of dollars. Five years. They don’t give a damn about you or your pet. Well now here is mine. Enjoy the show. EDIT: jfc check all the negative reviews! I don’t need to do anything to them they’re not already doing to themselves. These people are killing pets left and right with their incompetence. Looks like I dodged a bullet. Thanks for the warning!
Great for Rabbit Care. Saved me a big expense when my Daughters 9yr old rabbit broke his leg, the first vet I took him to said, put him down for $1,000 or possible "surgery" with no guarantees for $5,000. I brought the bunny to Long Beach animal hospital they said to keep him confined to a small space, limit movement to let the bone heal/set best as possible for a few weeks while keeping him well nourished and hydrated to avoid the many other issues that can arise from a bunny not eating or drinking enough water. After 4 weeks saw a noticable improvement in his hopping around and mood. Took him back about 4 to 5 weeks later and I could tell he was already a "new" Rabbit. With meds and appointment fees everything was about $500 to $700. And he's back to his old self with very little noticeable difference with the way he uses that leg for certain things. Very grateful and appreciate the knowledgeable, caring, honest staff. 👌👍
Price isn't everything! You get what you pay for! Ever heard these cliche phrases? We these and several more describe our expeience over the last 18-months with LBAH and Jennifer who is apparently the mangaing owner. If you wanted to be treated like your vet is doing you a favor just to grace you with their precense LBAH is the place for you. If you want to have to point out vaccines records that the staff argues with you don't exist to only be wrong and act snarky about it instead of admitting they were wrong and apologizing, LBAH is for you. If you want to find out that your vet mixed up your treatment plan and Rx for your pet with other patients and if you weren't careful you could have given your pet the wrong meds and caused great harm to them, LBAH is for you. If you want to schedule an appointment for quick, overpriced cytopoint shot that most vets have done with 5 to 20 minutes, but wait 54 minutes instead, LBAH is for you. The only reason for 2 stars is that we have unfortunately experienced even worse vets in the area, but the ultra low bar is no excuse for the overall imcompetence, lack of appreciation for customers and arrogance LBAH perpetuates toward their trusting clientele. They act like whatever they say is the standard, but we have been to other much better vets as well and I can assure you there is a much better experience out there with some vets. There are also some flat out crooks that we've come across in the area. I don't say that about LBAH but still there's much better place to invest your money into the care of your pet. Option 1: Mobile Vets (High Comfort, Zero Clinic Drama) If you want to skip the office, the waiting rooms, and the clinical vibe altogether, a mobile vet will come straight to your house. They can check Levi over and administer the shot right in your living room or their specialized van. Vetted Mobile Vet Providers: Companies like Dr. Treat, BetterVet, or independent local mobile vets service the Long Beach area. Option 2: The "Tech-Forward / Transparent" Approach If you prefer a physical clinic but are tired of old-school vets who hide the ball or upsell, Modern Animal just opened a location off PCH in Long Beach. They operate on a membership model (though they often do single visits) and are known for complete price transparency, an app to text vets 24/7, and a much more modern, empathetic approach to handling pets. We will be trying one of these next. Wish us luck. What a sad state the vetcare industry is in. We need better regulation over who can setup shop and maintain a license to practice animal care.
I brought in what I thought was a stray cat to get checked out. Had some services completed. The staff and Dr. Loper were great. Informative and caring. Fortunately no major health issues and his owner was found. His name is Ricco.
They are the most amazing animal vet/hospital you can take your pet to. It’s not a nearby hospital to where I am located but it is worth the drive to receive the care and serve they provide. They basically saved my chameleons life and for that I will always be grateful. Exotic pets at Long Beach Animal Hospital are cared for equally and not regarded as extra cost or work. Definitely recommend if you are thinking of going to this animal hospital.
The only animal hospital in all of LA that was able to tell us what was wrong with our cats. They had two parasites that other doctors missed. Phenomenal team and staff helped us ensure our pet is safe and healthy!
This is my go to exotics vet. Although some of vets there may handle them old school— holding them by the scruff(which I’m not all that fond of), I can at least rest easy on taking my hamsters here for any reason, since they specialize in exotics, and can accurately give you the right meds your exotic pet needs~ my go to vet there was Dr. Ridgeway
