What an amazing experience! We went with the family July 4th weekend. The team and boar are great. Saw 3 pods of dolphins 🐬 so incredible. Only recommend better snacks and healthier. Amazing experience & the captain and crew are great!

We were on a whale and dolphin watching tour, and it was an amazing experience! We were welcomed by a professional and experienced crew, which immediately made us feel safe. We then headed out into the ocean—leaving the harbor and entering the open sea is an experience in itself. You can instantly feel the power of the ocean. The boat moves very fast over the waves, and it honestly felt like being on a roller coaster. The view from the front deck is fantastic, but keep in mind that it gets very windy because of the speed. If it’s not very hot, it’s better to dress warmly and even bring a blanket. You can always stay on the lower deck, but the real thrill is definitely at the front. And the highlight—we saw three huge whales, each appearing about 5–10 minutes apart. It was absolutely breathtaking. It’s hard to believe that such incredible creatures live just 30 minutes from downtown Long Beach and only 5–7 minutes from the shore. On the way back, we encountered a pod of dolphins. They were very playful, swimming and jumping around the boat, bringing joy to everyone—both kids and adults. Overall, I highly recommend this tour—it’s worth every cent of the ticket price. The 2.5 hours flew by without us even noticing. It’s perfect for a family outing or a great date! I’d also suggest bringing some cash to tip the crew—they truly deserve it, and they only accept cash. Highly recommended!
I wanted to do something different for the 4th of July 250th celebration, so I booked a Harbor Cruise in order to get a great view of the fireworks. The hour long cruise around the San Pedro Channel was nice but it was pretty crowded on the boat. We ended up being able to see the fireworks really well, but the playlist playing in the background could have been better. Overall, it was really fun and I would do it again.
Hands-down, the best experience of my entire trip! We actually saw four whales all four breached, and the sunset was gorgeous. The marine naturalist on board was fantastic and the boat captain went out out of his way To stay out just a little bit longer than planned so that we could get some fantastic sunset whale viewing. It was absolutely amazing and I wanted to go back again the next day. Could not more highly recommend, worth EVERY Penny.
Had a great time! I didn't have time for a full whale watching tour, but I still wanted to get out on the water for my first time in LA. The staff was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. The tour itself was smooth and I learned a lot about the area around Long Beach. The Harbor Tour is perfect for anyone on a time crunch.
Finally saw whales. We had been on a number of whale watching trips over the years in several locations but this was the first time we have seen whales. The boat is set up with stadium seating in the bow which was very nice for more people to be able to see these magnificent creatures. There was a warm and comfortable inner cabin to sit in when you got a little too much cold wind. The narration was good and informative plus there were volunteers walking around helping with the sightings and science. The ride was pretty smooth as the sea was somewhat calm and the boat is multi hull. There are food and beverages available on board. Prices were reasonable. The crew helped locate the best spots for photos.
All the staff on board the ship were extremely laid back and chill. It was a very relaxing and beautiful day on the water, however no whales. We did see some nice dolphin, seal and seabird action as they were all dive bombing a huge bait ball. Overall, a pretty good value for the reasonably low cost and not overcrowded either.
Our experience was great!! Bring a jacket. The breeze in the boat is pretty chilly. But our guide, Clive helped identify 3 different kinds of whales for us, of course dolphins, sea gulls, pelicans, and sea lions too. What a great experience!
