Visited June 2026. We were in the area for a few days and searching for something family-friendly to occupy the kids. This place is perfect for kids and adults alike. All the enclosures were clean and offered excellent views of the animals. All of the animals seemed to be well cared for and happy in their environment. Definitely recommend.
We have never not had a great time! The zoo is definitely our happy place. We love learning about all of the animals that live at the zoo. My favorite is Thor the Gaboon Viper. We learned a lot about a ground horn bill named Zues at our last visit. He has an amazing personality 💖. If you go by be sure and say hi.
My visit to the Little Rock Zoo was truly enjoyable. I loved seeing the lions, tigers, bears, colorful birds, and fascinating reptiles. The entire place was clean and well maintained. It also features a restaurant and a playground, making it a great destination for families with kids of all ages.
Highly recommended!!! With very affordable ticket price, a wide range of animals (they are very cute!!!), and informative staff. My husband and I were looking at rhino and a staff quickly introduced interesting info about the rhino. You can feel that the animals are well taken care of.
Overall, the zoo was fairly clean, especially considering parts of it were under renovation. It’s on the smaller side, but they do have a decent variety of animals. That said, some of the enclosures felt a bit run down, and a few animals—like the chimps, otters, fox, and sun bear—seemed stressed or low energy. Most of the animals did appear healthy, though. The layout wasn’t very intuitive, with no clear path to follow and some stretches where there wasn’t much to see or enclosures appeared empty. It’s a reasonable option for locals, but in my opinion, it’s not really worth going out of your way for if you’re just passing through.
Drove from St Louis area to visit. Was cooler than expected so the animals were mostly up and walking around so was really nice to see them acting alive. plenty of new construction going on and many exhibits closed. Couldn't see any of the lizards. Found it odd that the alpacas were next to the big cats. enjoyed the farm portion but the .25 gumball machine dispensing like 5 treats to give the goats etc seemed underwhelming. Got more for the money feeding the Koi. Actually got to witness a serval meow at me. My heart melted. Animals appeared well kept and healthy. Really wish for a Puma petting experience.
I came with a group to this zoo on a beautiful spring Saturday and I honestly didn't know what to expect since we have a large zoo in our town. Parking was easy and you pay the $3 fee when you buy your tickets. There were staff helping stop traffic so that our group could safely cross. I will say we arrived at 9:15 when there were plenty of parking spots and we left at noon when the parking lot including the adjacent rock lot was nearly full. Restrooms were always nearby when we needed them and the zoo never felt packed. I appreciated the little details like the animals painted on bathroom doors, animal tracks on the sidewalks, water fountains available throughout the zoo, designated quiet areas and sensory kits available for check out. We LOVED the DJ at the entrance that day and our group even stopped to dance before we started walking around the zoo. What a great zoo, our group had an amazing time!
