Lors de notre passage à Lafayette, nous avons pris le temps de visiter la magnifique Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, l'un des monuments les plus emblématiques de la ville.
Avec son architecture impressionnante, ses vitraux colorés et son atmosphère paisible, cette cathédrale est un véritable joyau du patrimoine louisianais. Les jardins et le grand chêne centenaire qui l'entourent ajoutent encore plus de charme à l'endroit.
Que l'on soit passionné d'histoire, d'architecture ou simplement à la recherche d'un lieu inspirant à découvrir, la Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist mérite assurément un arrêt lors d'une visite à Lafayette.
Beautiful cathedral inside and outside. With free parking. The art work on the windows are amazing. Peaceful . Really worth visiting. I loved it. Don't miss the cemetery next to it. Also very nice.

Absolutely beautiful church. We drove an hour out of our way just to see it and the tree. Stunning. The grounds are very well kept and so is the actual cathedral.
Very pretty red brick Cathedral with a truly enormous live oak tree protected in the yard and a really interesting cemetery out back. We arrived on Christmas day in the afternoon when it wasn't open ahead of the Mass but I think it's normally open.
So beautiful. This gorgeous Cathedral totally captures the love, mercy and appreciation for all life as bestowed on humankind by God Our Father. Daily mass with faithful followers of “The Way” was a highlight of our vacation. The family that prays together stays together. The stained glass windows with statements of faith written in French reflect the faith, hope and love of past generations that trusted. Let us take a lesson from the history books! Come to see and experience this beautiful home of God.
