My daughter's bestie that's from Kearney recommended this place before I left home for Houston. 1st of all, I truly enjoyed my conference trip to Kearney! Visiting The Archway Museum was a great experience. After walking around lost (1st floor), I noticed a family headed to the escalator upstairs and followed them. That's when the attendant girl directed me towards the ticket counter. Definitely worth it! You get the option of a self guided tour (portable speaker or QR code for your phone... I had my earbuds with me) or a guided tour. Walking around, stations (numbered) tell you the history and stories of travel across the country by the pioneers and what they experienced. It progresses through time to the Pony Express, telegrams, the Continental Railroad, highways, etc. It's a really informative and cool tour. Then, you get to walk around outside for more experiences. Didn't hurt that it was an absolutely beautiful Nebraska day! All in all... so glad I got to see it.

I thought it was a very cool museum. It goes into detail about the paths from east to west. The exhibits start with people taking wagons and stuff, then the railroad, and then the highway. You get an audio device that talks about the various exhibits and there's many things to read as well. They also have a great gift shop. Definitely worth the stop.

Great spot to rest up and learn about American expansionism. Museum was unique and interesting. Bridge across the river led to a great hiking trail of about 7 miles, depending on how much you did. Small motel and nice gift shop. Grounds were well maintained and easy access to highway. Worth a stop.

This is a fantastic museum of travel history. You get to see the history from the viewpoint of several different groups. From pioneers, to the Pony Express, to the railroads, to the Lincoln Highway and motorists finally getting easy cross country access across the U.S. This museum truly tells a cohesive story of our evolution of travel in the area. A must see!

This place was a super neat find. We enjoyed it very much. The kids loved having their own devices to listen to the stories and facts. They found the screens really fun and interesting. Overrall I'd highly recommend checking it out.

Fun little stop on the way to Cheyenne. We had been past many times and decided to stop, they even had a shirt that said that, hysterical. Well done museum showing the development of the route from wagon train, railroad, to modern highway.

We made it a plan to stop here on our drive to Omaha from Colorado, and we are so glad we did. This is a very well-maintained and quality history museum about the westward expansion! Splendid visit that didn't take too long to see. Don't drive past this and say, "Next time." Do it this time!

Amazing walk through the history of the three pioneer trails. Well organized and just an enjoyable few hours. The employees are helpful and knowledgeable. They also have a love of history, which is contagious in the best way. Highly recommend.
