Wow! Was this place neat! It's really big, well cared for, has all kinds of plants, and areas to explore, including a butterfly garden/ enclosure and a vegetable garden with seeds that came from some of the Founding Father's homes! I could have explored here for hours, but my elderly mom that I was traveling with, was getting tired, so we cut the visit a little short. Even with that, we still were there 2+ hours. I would HIGHLY recommend the tram tour. The driver explained about the different areas of the park and what was planted in each. He pointed out specific plants and the history of each of the areas. It was interesting. I feel like the botanical garden is geared more toward adults. The adult cost was $21 each with the tram included. There are some kid friendly areas in the gardens, but I can see younger children getting bored once they've explored the kids' areas and being able to run around freely wears off. I feel like kids could almost get a similar experience at a nice city park for free. Just my opinion.

Huntsville Botanical Garden is definitely worth visiting if you are in Alabama, especially if you enjoy nature, photography, and peaceful walks. The entire place is very beautiful and full of great spots for pictures. One of our favorite parts was seeing Mama Zelda, the giant troll sculpture created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo. It was such a fun surprise and a unique attraction inside the garden. We also really enjoyed the bird watching area and all the different themed sections throughout the property. I highly recommend doing the guided tram tour if you are willing to spend a little extra because it was very educational and helped us learn more about the garden’s history, plants, and exhibits. After the tour, you are free to walk around and explore on your own, which made it easier to know where we wanted to go next. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience for both adults and kids.

We stopped in while touring UAH, and this place is simply amazing—clean, beautiful, and completely captivating. We ventured down some of the long, shady paths into the woods and eventually looped back out around gorgeous landscaping and aquatic features. It really is a fantastic way to spend the day, recharge your batteries, and feel inspired. The local wildlife is abundant and surprisingly unafraid; we saw squirrels, rabbits, a badger, and so many different types of birds, including lots of beautiful cardinals! Highly recommend.

The kind of American botanical gardens with wide diversity, venue opportunities abound, and plant installations are a walking visual delight. There are short and long trails; paved trails; natural trails; wide trails and single tracks; riffling waters and calm reflections; and as within all gardens tending to Katabasis and senescence, people come down and out or up and over, to be lucky enough to enjoy this Huntsville treasure. Every human structure is a great place to start for real nature inspiration and the wildness within!

I recently visited the Huntsville Botanical Garden and overall had a pleasant experience. The grounds are well-kept, and a, relaxing place to walk and enjoy nature. I especially appreciated how family-friendly it is, with spaces that feel welcoming for all ages. That said, I’m originally from Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania, which is known for its expansive displays and elaborate seasonal exhibits. Because of that, I naturally found myself wishing for a bit more variety and larger-scale floral installations here. I think the Huntsville garden has a lot of potential to grow even further, especially by expanding its exhibits and adding more immersive displays. It’s a lovely local spot, and with continued development, it could become even more of a standout destination in the future. Overall, it’s a nice place to spend a peaceful afternoon, especially if you’re looking for something low-key and family-friendly.

I found myself exploring this garden with a child-like curiosity and calming intrigue. This garden is well kept and holds secret little pathways and surprises around every turn. Enjoy the calm and seclusion of the azalea trail, the beauty of the aquatic garden, the playful Tweetsville, the majestic butterfly house, and of course the mysterious maze of the Troll Garden (don't worry she is a friendly troll!)! I highly recommend this garden for a relaxing day in nature! Bring a book or journal; this garden offers plenty of benches and swings so you can relax, reflect, and enjoy the beauty of nature! It took about 3 hours to tour the garden at a leisurely pace. Afterwards, enjoy a refreshing beverage at the cafe and gift show. I highly recommend this gem of Huntsville!

Botanical Gardens Huntsville, AL - $42.51 2x entry tickets and 1x pet entry, $10.90 gift shop Very nice visit - in April Thursday is pet friendly day. No physical map but there was a large picture map available that we took a photo off. Walked the grounds for about 90-minutes and it was great. Not quite in the blooming season, we think another few weeks and this garden will look fantastic. Nice gift shop and cafe. Trails were well marked. Thursday is bring your best friend day.

I stopped by here after leaving the space and rocket center and I was incredibly impressed. I'm not used to having to pay to enter botanical gardens, typically they are free but this one was about 16 or so dollars to enter if I'm not mistaken. However I can tell that they take that money and reinvest it right back into these gardens because everything is immaculate. It's very well maintained, open, clean, well lit, just everything across the board absolutely wonderful. There are many different gardens and places to sit and rest as well as of course tons of shade. This place is great for a nice romantic stroll, a friendly walk or even bringing the kids along. Fantastic
