Mas Katy is one of the most welcoming and vibrant Muslim communities you will find. The diversity of the congregation is beautiful—people from all backgrounds coming together in faith, friendship, and service. What truly makes this masjid special is the strong sense of community. There are activities for all ages, including pickleball, biking, basketball, soccer, badminton, volleyball, and many other programs that bring people together beyond just prayer. The imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Haddad, is exceptional. His Qur’an recitation is absolutely beautiful, and his khutbahs are both insightful and engaging—often delivered with a great sense of humor. He is a graduate of the prestigious Al-Azhar University, originally from Egypt, and is even fluent in Mandarin. Another remarkable aspect is how welcoming the masjid is to newcomers. Every week people from different backgrounds are embracing Islam and joining the community, which says a lot about the warmth and openness of the environment. The masjid is also very well organized, with an excellent security and traffic team that keeps everything running smoothly during large gatherings. A thoughtful touch you’ll notice right at the entrance is the American flag, reflecting the community’s commitment to being positive contributors to the wider society. Mas Katy is more than just a mosque—it’s a thriving community built on faith, service, and belonging. Everyone is truly welcome here.

I’ve been visiting this mosque for a while now, usually after the Sunday games—they have a gym right next to it btw. I really appreciate how quiet and clean it always is. It’s a peaceful spot. For info, the women’s section is located on the second floor, with a separate entrance available.

The prayer area is spacious and thoughtfully designed, and everything is well maintained. The community is warm and friendly, and you can truly feel a sense of unity and comfort when you visit. For the ramadan prayers for tarqweeh please do not pray 20 there are many mosques that pray 20 and I come to this mosque to pray 8 so the prayers are actually doable and so I can go home and sleep so I wake up for suhoor and fajr. A lot of people have kids and need to take them to school early but want to get the reward of staying till the end. so please again

Wonderful Sunni’s masjid. Ma Shaa Allah. Can be a bit loud sometimes when prayer’s done and jamaah are hanging around talking loudly while others are doing nafiil prayers.
