The Makoy

Me and my husband got married on 10/11/25, and what a wonderful day it was. The team at The Makoy Center took care of us from beginning to end. We could not have asked for a better day and our guests could not stop commenting on how nice the venue and staff was. Search no further for the best venue near Columbus! We will definitely be back for any large events in the future.

A Great Location in Central Ohio for a multipurpose Event Center. Hilliard, Ohio is easy to get to & has a small town flare within Franklin County ( Columbus ). The Makoy Center can be adapted to accommodate large parties, Weddings of all sizes, Stage events seating large crowds theater style or as in our case 250 organizational members for a Premiering of a PBS National Chef / Cooking competition with our very own super buffet dinner with massive deserts . The dinner lasted throughout the 3 Jumbo TV video showing with plenty of picture taking & dancing following its conclusion. This place really works to please its customers .

I cannot say enough about how well my Retirement Ball was executed. The team at The Makoy was amazing to work with and did an amazing job helping me execute my vision. I’ve received so many compliments on the venue, the food, the decor. It was wonderful.

Matt and his crew at The Makoy did a phenomenal job at making our wedding night the best possible. They were great communicators in the whole planning process and took changes in stride on the day of. Could not have picked a better venue for our wedding of 260 people. 10/10 recommend!!

Went here for an event for DSPs and they had great food for lunch and Session 5 played for us. Only thing is I wish they'd had some bagels or something out for breakfast. The event started at 10am and we didn't eat before going. Our fault but all in all a great place.

My husband and I hosted our wedding at the Makoy Center and it was the most magical night of our lives.Our ceremony was held outside and the reception was in the Emerald room. Between the ambiance of the Emerald room and the creative touch of our wedding planners the room was beautiful and elegant.The entire experience was awesome. The staff was helpful and easy to work with and the food was phenomenal! We highly recommend considering to host your next event here!

Truly an amazing venue with amazing staff. Our family lives mostly in northern and southern OH, so Columbus area was the perfect middle ground! We live out of state now, and weddings are stressful enough when you’re in the state you get married in. The Makoy worked with us through every step and we left every meeting feeling like we were stressed over nothing. Not to mention the venue is beautiful and our guests (~160) couldn’t stop complimenting it. Matt was amazing at every step of the way to making sure we were smooth sailing and helping with every idea we had or decided to change. We never felt pressured to spend more and they always helped us stay within the budget. For everything you get, the Makoy was worth every penny. Last but not least the food was amazing. We went for a buffet option and everyone LOVED it (including us!) The staff was also amazing for helping coordinate the multiple different severe and non-severe food allergies we had. I’m sure there’s things I missed as I don’t think I can fit everything I loved about the Makoy in the character limit- but if I had to redo my wedding- the Makoy would be our venue/reception no matter what.

We had a Sweet 16 birthday party for my granddaughters here this past weekend. The staff was amazing. The catered food was delicious. Hands down the best place for catered food and a friendly atmosphere.
