⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Chimneys Restaurant – Gulfport, Mississippi As a live caricature artist, I’ve had the pleasure of working at The Chimneys twice now — most recently during Cruisin’ the Coast. Imagine arriving for a wedding and discovering one of the biggest festivals of the year happening all around you! Thankfully, despite the crowds, I had no trouble getting to the venue. From the moment I arrived (an hour early), I could tell I was in for a treat. The staff was in full motion — at least 20 to 30 people buzzing around, perfectly organized, discussing service flow and setup. The professionalism was impressive. The venue itself is stunning: right across from the water, with twinkling string lights, a wraparound porch, and a spacious lawn where the DJ had guests dancing under the stars. There’s ample room both indoors and out, so even if weather doesn’t cooperate, the celebration can go on beautifully. What truly stood out, though, was the service. The team checked on me multiple times throughout the night — making sure I had water and even bringing me a full plate of food. I often include a vendor-meal clause in my contract, but they went above and beyond and offered me the same menu as the guests. I chose the filet, and it was hands-down the best vendor plate I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious — tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Between the gorgeous coastal setting, the white-glove service, and the incredible food, The Chimneys easily earns a perfect score from me. I’d happily return here for a special occasion — in fact, I’m already eyeing Valentine’s Day dinner! ✨ Service: 5/5 ✨ Atmosphere: 5/5 ✨ Food: 5/5 Highly recommend this gem for weddings, anniversaries, and any event where you want a truly memorable experience.
The place was highly recommended by a colleague on our business trip. This quaint and charming restaurant is beautifully located right across the beach front coast of Gulfport, Mississippi. For the appetizer, I ordered seafood eggplants. It's baked, had crispy toppings, creamy eggplants, and seafood on the inside. It tastes so good! For my main course, I ordered the triple tail special, lump crabs, and a wild rice on the side. It has a generous slice amount of fish perfectly cooked paired with the delicious creamy lump crabs on the top. The restaurant table setup was nice with fresh, colorful flowers on a flower base. The restaurant is clean with large windows for one to appreciate the wooded outside, and the view of the ocean front can be visible at the restaurant side porch . The service was good, and the price of food is affordable. I highly recommend this place.
I'm in town as my mother is in the hospital, here in Gulfport. Some locals recommended this place to me as I love some good food. I came for lunch and had the Chimney Crabs. They were delicious and my server and the hostess were the best. So no issues with lunch. However, this is the reason for the review. I decided that I would return for dinner because they had a Filet with lump crab meat, mushrooms and shrimp with Hollandaise sauce. I couldn't wait. Fast forward to I was never communicated as to the nightly specials. As I never would have known they had any had I not heard another server communicate them to her table. I mean honestly I already knew what I wanted anyway, but as a server at a fine dining establishment , that should have been communicated. So, I ordered some soup, it was brought out lukewarm at best. I actually had to go ask the hostess to find my server because he was nowhere to be found. He brought me out some hot soup and put it on the table without even so much as a single word. My empty soup bowl was left ony table long after being finished, as I never saw him again after that not to ask or check if I needed a refill or if I needed anything else. My steak was brought out the toppings (crab, mushrooms and shrimp) were lukewarm my steak was supposed to be medium rare, it was very rare. The menu advertised a Hollandaise sauce on top. However, they failed to mention it was not a traditional Hollandaise sauce, but a brown butter Hollandaise sauce (which had I known that, I would've asked for the sauce to be left off), additionally the insane amount of fennel coupled with the wrong temp made my food inedible. If you're going to use a brown butter Hollandaise sauce rather than a traditional HolIandaise sauce that should be communicated. I will also add my green beans were also lukewarm. I finally asked for a box, with a full plate of food. I was not even asked if everything was ok? As a food and beverage worker myself, I would've never not asked a guest if everything was ok with a full plate of food, and a request for a box. To say I'm highly disappointed is an understatement my meal for my soup and entree was $85, so $100 with tip (probably shouldn't have left him that much, but I'm not like that). Now, I have no issue paying for food as I love it and I knew how much it cost when I decided to dine here. However, for the price I should have definitely received much better service, as well as the staff being conscious of their food temps and menu description(s). I will add the hostess was very kind, and it seemed as if the other servers were on top of their tables, as I saw then checking on them several times. Guess I just got short end of the stick. Needless to say depending on how long I'm here I would not return unless it was for lunch.
I had an outstanding experience at The Chimneys on Friday night. Making a reservation online was easy and I opted to sit on the patio. Morgan was an excellent server. Her service was welcoming, pleasant, knowledgeable, cheerful and she made the whole experience very comfortable. I had the snapper that was featured for the evening. It was absolute perfection. Served piping hot, very flavorful, and tasted very fresh. The Mississippi Mud Cake was decadent and a great treat. Morgan was thoughtful and considerate of pacing for my meal, ensuring that each course came out at the perfect time. The view, surrounded by trees and being able to see the water, made this a great way to enjoy a peaceful Friday night out on my own. Towards the end of my meal I was greeted by the restaurant’s (very polite, well-behaved and not intrusive) outdoor cat who lazily made his rounds on the floor. Overall, a lovely experience. I would highly recommend this as a great place for a romantic date night or a special occasion.
I never thought I'd have to walk out of a place due to no service. Not bad service, no service. We had a reservation and arrived early. My wife and I went to the bar and ordered drinks. The hostess came and sat us at our table still about 15 minutes earlier than our reservation. So the first 15 minutes without a server showing up to the table didn't bother me. However, after another 20 minutes went by without a server coming to the table I'd had enough. I went back to the bar to pay for our drinks and let the bartender know we were leaving. To her credit she let us go and said the drinks were on the house. She also offered to get someone to our table but I was done at that point. I shouldn't have to ask at a place like this. By the way, I'd have accepted any sort of story and been fine. We're short staffed, we're backed up, I haven't forgot about you, etc. 5 seconds of effort and all would have been good. We weren't in a hurry but to let us sit there for close to 40 minutes and get nothing is inexcusable. We were outside on the front porch and there were 2 other tables getting serviced. The waiter and waitress serving the other 2 tables were out there multiple times during our wait. It would have taken almost zero effort just to let us know they hadn't forgotten about us. So disappointing. We had never eaten here before and it came recommended. This is the place my wife and I decided to go to celebrate our 35th anniversary and were really looking forward to it. It's baffling to me that this happened at a restaurant like this.
Exceeded expectations! A truly wonderful dining experience that won't disappoint. Reservations are not required, but highly recommended as this restaurant gets very busy and for good reason. Every dish has a "wow" factor and is absolutely delicious. Service is top notch. Upscale atmosphere that is warm and inviting. View of the ocean can be seen through the front windows (from a majority of the tables), or from the front porch dining area. Parking is limited. If the parking lot is full, then the restaurant will probably be also. I wish we had discovered this place on our first day of vacation instead of our last. Otherwise, we would have eaten here multiple times during our visit. We will return on our next visit to this area.
We love coming to Chimney's when we want a low-key sophisticated night. The drinks are phenomenal, the food is drool worthy!
