This is a wonderful museum! We happened to be in Golden for breakfast and saw the sign. We didn't know much about Buffalo Bill, but we enjoy niche museums, and decided to check it out. Great views from atop the mountain were a bonus. Everything about the museum was well done. An excellent movie gave context to all we were to encounter in the exhibits. The exhibits had hundreds of artifacts and the explanatory signs were top notch. Best $4 I have spent in years! Highly recommend!

During our Colorado Sisters Trip, we stopped at the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave and had a great time exploring the museum and grounds. The museum does a nice job sharing the history of Buffalo Bill with interesting exhibits and several interactive displays. We especially enjoyed walking around outside and taking in the beautiful mountain views from the site. The admission price was very reasonable, making it an affordable stop for anyone visiting the area. If you're looking for a bit of Colorado history, scenic views, and a fun place to spend an hour or two, this is definitely worth a visit. A fun addition to our sisters' getaway!
Great experience overall. The museum is well organized and offers a solid look into the history of Buffalo Bill and the American West. Exhibits are informative without feeling overwhelming, and there’s a good mix of artifacts, visuals, and storytelling. The space is clean, easy to navigate, and suitable for all ages. Staff was friendly and helpful. Worth the visit if you’re in the area, especially if you’re interested in Western history.
First time in the Rocky's and I happen to see a sign for this on the way. It was a must stop and should be for the world. The view from here was absolutely stunning and you get to see why this world is so beautiful. I can also see why Buffalo Bill and his wife would have wanted eternal rest here. The museum was awesome and everything is original except for a few photos. Very educational and I was very happy that I made this stop on my trip.
Went on a Friday afternoon, but made it too late for the museum. Late april/beginning of May, it was fairly easy to find parking, but can't speak on peak tourist season. The views were amazing. Also a good chance to see wildlife up close!
The Buffalo Bill Museum is a great place to understand the American West. The museum has many interesting visuals and exhibits and it also offers a beautiful view. While learning about Buffalo Bill's life, you can see that he was also a very successful traveler. Don't forget to visit his grave.
Really interesting museum dedicated to Buffalo Bill Cody. Very small, but filled with artifacts from Bill's Wild West Shows from the early 1900's. You have the option of watching a 20 minute video that describes his complicated life. He was definitely progressive for that era, employing native Americans and women and paying them equally to white men (not at all common at the time). His grave is also on site looking over Golden, CO...this was one of his favorite places and where he wanted to be buried. Entry is cheap. There is also a gift shop.
Knowledgeable staff and one of the better museums I have visited. Thoughtfully laid out, organized and easy to leave understanding more about “Buffalo Bill” as well as wanting to carry on his mission of understanding and caring for the wilderness and its people. Great place to go alone.
