This is one of the best zoos in Texas and totally worth the visit with kids. The zoo has over 7,000 animals and so much to do. Our kids loved the petting zoo, the giraffe feeding experience, and the Safari Splash water area — perfect for hot Texas days. The ape and reptile exhibits were amazing too! The place was clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate with kids. Strollers are available to rent right at the entrance which is very handy. Daily shows and animal keeper talks keep the little ones entertained throughout the day. Pro tip — visit on Wednesdays for half-price tickets and arrive early so you catch the animals when they are most active! Overall a fantastic day out for the whole family. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the DFW area. We will definitely be coming back! 🦒🐘🦁

Hands down my favorite zoo. It is absolutely gorgeous! Every single habitat feels like a highly detailed, immersive ecosystem rather than just a fenced-in enclosure. The density of animals is amazing, the landscaping is gorgeous, and the habitats are completely unmatched. Worth every penny.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly zoo in Texas, this is it. The shade coverage is unbeatable, keeping everything lush and comfortable. They have a wonderful variety of animals, including some incredible endangered species. For those with little ones: the toddler area and carousel are fantastic additions that kept my daughter entertained for hours. Also, do yourself a favor and rent a stroller it made our day so much easier! Between the well-maintained exhibits and the informative staff presentations, it’s a perfect educational outing. The giraffe feeding is also a huge plus! Be prepared to walk more than the usual and it will take the whole day to get through the whole zoo!

We love the zoo so much that we became members. So many great animals for my 1.5 year old to enjoy. We love going when it opens at 10am to get the front parking lot. Or else you end up having to park in their overflow lot which has a little more of a walk. We also love their splash pad for the summer. Only complaint I have about the splash pad is that the 5+ year olds take over the toddler section and get rowdy and knock over the littles. Wish there was better separation.

We visited the Fort Worth Zoo this past Friday while Sloan was out of school for Easter, and it was such a great day to be there. The weather was beautiful, and the entire experience felt easy, fun, and well worth it. We have a membership, and honestly, it feels essential if you live nearby or plan to visit often. It saves money over time, gets you into the park with ease, and comes with added perks like discounts and special access on member days. It just makes the whole experience smoother and more enjoyable. The zoo itself is always clean, well-organized, and full of things for the kids to enjoy. The girls had a great time, and it’s one of those places we can keep coming back to without it ever getting old.

It’s one of the best zoos in the DFW and continues improving. It has all the features of the best zoos in the US ata smaller scale. We also went when the heat was 91-97 degrees and it was manageable because a lot of the paths have shade and also have mist stops. There are also some indoor exhibits. The staff inside were great. The parking attendant was indifferent, no greetings or response to common courtesy. Probably it was the summer heat.

Had an amazing time at the Fort Worth Zoo! The zoo is very clean, well organized, and has a great variety of animals from around the world. The habitats are beautifully maintained, and you can tell the animals are well cared for. The staff was friendly and helpful, and there were plenty of activities for kids and families. The food options and shaded areas also made the visit comfortable even on a warm day. Definitely one of the best zoos in Texas and worth visiting!

The best zoo I've ever been to! It's impossible to see it all in 1 day! Love how many different types of animals they have. There's a petting zoo area. Kids indoor & door area that's shaded. Let's of shade from the hot sun. The staff are always so friendly and kind. There's several different air conditioned spaces to cool down. Highly highly recommend this zoo over the Dallas one.
