Saw the rock band Ashmore at the little amphitheater at Capp Smith Park. Good show except for the blinding sun, constantly in your face. The Park and the band are absolutely great though. Watauga Fest is this May 15th weekend at that park
Great spot to visit if you live close. Took the kids fishing and let them run around the park. Alot of ducks and geese for the kiddos to look at. People walking dogs and running around the park were super friendly. Had restrooms on-site. And new playground area.
I love this park-it is one of my favorites in the area. It is well-maintained, always has a variety of birds (ducks, geese, heron) a few turtles, fish, and lovely wildflowers and trees throughout. It is a fantastic spot for a relaxing walk or a run. The trails are nice and wide, so there is plenty of space for everyone. Picnic tables, grills, and covered areas are available too. Plenty of benches are placed along the trail. I always feel so refreshed after a visit here. I highly recommend this park to anyone looking for a pretty place to relax outdoors!
Pretty Nice Park but due to heavy rainfall kids playing area became like a small pond no water outgoing.
Great Park, 1.5 miles around the loop with elevation changes. Beautiful view of Pond for fishing with lots of ducks. Huge covered playground- musical area and covered pavilion, with a splash pad for summer. Would give five stars but recently the land next to it was sold so a bunch of homes being built.
Awesome park! Beautiful, lots of space, sidewalk for bicycles, etc, an amphitheater covered area, picnic tables, also benches and trashcans throughout the walking path. Ducks that you aren't supposed to feed, but people do. You can also fish. Make sure to bring dog poopie bags of you're going to walk your dog, I haven't found and provided in the area. But, they do have a pet water fountain by the north bathrooms.

I fish this pond pretty often. It's our favorite quick get away. People walking around are pleasant to talk with. Rarely any issues that I can notice.
