Marlene's Natural Foods & Deli

I love this store. The people are friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. They have a great variety and sales on a lot of the essentials. Love the spice, herbs, tea and bulk foods available. Don't see what you need? Have them order it in for you. It takes a week or so and they will call you as soon as it's in. Highly recommend.

It’s hard to say which location I like best this one or Tacoma . I love them both equally . I love how they they carry so many healthy bulk items, non toxic , organic , ect . They are best health store , I feel bad for Seattle they don’t have you guys .

I've been shopping at Marlene's for over a decade. Tonight was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at this store. I was trying to check out while waiting for my bus around closing. There was a line of about nine people. The one cashier was working hard. Trying to request help from a coworker, a blonde haired lady who was more interested in pulling in a couple carts than trying to help me get home. I'm disabled and I ended up missing my bus. Had to walk most of the way home. Wish that other people could take the time to help me check out and get home without missing my bus. Anyone reading this Please help me figure out how to make this store a nice place to shop again! 😢

I’ve been shopping at Marlene’s Market & Deli in Federal Way for 6+ years. Appreciate the convenient location near the I5 freeway, ample parking & customer seating, and the elevator located at the back of the vitamin aisles. I shop at Marlene’s mostly for the variety of organic and local selections rarely found nearby. With prices more moderate than other natural food store competitors. The kind, friendly, professional staff - like Joyce, John, others - make this a store I look forward to shopping at. Sometimes a short wait to ask advice - some customers can be quite chatty. But it's understandable. Sometimes a short explanation of one’s health journey is needed to obtain the applicable vitamins, minerals, and product selections. Looking just like their website photo’s, the 1st floor has nice selections of: fresh fruits & vegetables, dairy, breads, and bulk: snacks, coffees, teas, spices, grains, and more. But I usually start upstairs to place my order at the deli / smoothie bar. While waiting, I shop the soup & salad bar, and sections with fresh pre-made: sandwiches. Then onto the fresh baked goods, with pies & cakes sold by the slice! More health-focused than most other stores, it is more a market, deli, grocery store, rolled into one. Marlene’s, and helpful employees like John, are some of the reasons my health has actually improved over the years since I’ve been shopping there. Highly recommend: Great salmon cakes & samosas, Awesome pumpkin cheesecake slices.

I have been a loyal customer of Marlene’s for years because I trusted their commitment to clean, safe food. Unfortunately, since the change in ownership to Lassens, that trust has been broken. I’ve noticed a disappointing shift toward including GMO foods disguised as healthy options, and non-organic items that were never part of Marlene’s original mission. Many items i relied on for years are suddenly gone from the shelves. Even more concerning is the presence of hidden seed oils and refined sugar in the deli, including one of the worst allergens; soy, i have read and found this on many prepared foods there. I can no longer tolerate my beloved buttermilk ranch in the salad bar. It’s heartbreaking to see a local staple lose its integrity. It provided a beacon of hope to many citizens with terminal illness. I hope the new management listens to the community and this review and returns to the high standards Marlene herself established." If not, I hope Marlene comes back to haunt you.

Love love love this outfit. When I don’t shop Costco for large quantity and great prices … and I don’t like the high prices of Metro Market … , I shop Marlene’s for organic produce, grains and breads at very reasonable prices. I just discovered they have a Tacoma store and cannot wait to check it out.

Excellent selection of at least 6-8 varieties of organic apples this fall found nowhere else in area. Excellent produce quality and hard to find items. I could not find brown rice flour in other natural food stores but Marlene's had it. Prices are rather high but selection and quality are unbeatable!

Great place for healthy foods and health and beauty products! Salad bar is great and prepared foods section is perfect for a quick pick dinner! Large dining area upstairs to enjoy soup, salad, sandwiches and fresh squeezed juices!
