The trail around the museum is small but gives you plenty of photo opportunities especially during poppy season. Perfect for a quick stop to walk around to get some fresh air.

What a cute visit with the poppies. Small trail but very doable for most people. I loved it here and very peaceful.

Enjoyed my experience with my wife up until the security guard kept following us. Building was pretty empty maybe 2 other couples in at the time. But he was sticking close to us and would follow us into each room, that's fine I understand he's just doing his job, but when we're the only black/brown people and the rest are white, it seems like racial profiling. Also felt rushed to hurry and get out and didn't feel welcomed mainly by him. He made sure his presence was felt and that completely ruined our experience and opportunity for a spot to come to now. Other than him, I would've given a 5 star review.

Nice place, we were there for dia de los doggies. No dogs inside the museum so we can only review the grounds. (They offered to watch our dog but we declined). Grounds are very nice as are the staff and volunteers.

One of the best small museums I’ve visited. All exhibits are rich in detail and artifacts are close enough to be engaging.

Several beautifully created dioramas depicting the ancestral progression of the Aboriginal population. What I found particularly interesting was the origin of mezcal from burnt agave. Also, spare a moment and check out the Border Patrol Museum next door!

The El Paso Museum of Archaeology is one of those places that surprises you in the best way. It sits at the base of the Franklin Mountains, and the moment you walk in, you can feel the weight of the history this region carries. The exhibits are thoughtful and detailed, and they walk you through thousands of years of human life in the Southwest. The dioramas and displays bring the ancient world into focus, and you can see the care that went into every part of the museum. The grounds outside are just as impressive, with desert plants, nature trails, and views that remind you of the stories this land holds. It is quiet, peaceful, and perfect for anyone who loves archaeology or simply wants to understand the deeper history of this part of Texas. This museum is a gem, and I am glad I took the time to visit. I will be back again because places like this deserve more than one visit.
