Downtown Cafe Bar & Grill

Lives just a few blocks away but we just tried this place today. Well, we’re not dissappointed. Price-wise and taste-wise. If you wanna enjoy their live music, it starts at 6.30 pm on the weekend. Chipotle steak pasta and rib eye steak were delicious. I liked their chicken pozole soup of the day, refreshing 👍

Music was great environment was great, which made the fact that it took 2 and a 1/2 hours for us to get out of there, not as horrific as it should be. Our waitress could care less, never asked us how the food was her name was Kaitlyn i believe. I asked for a burger with no bun. There were bun on it, the burger seemed like you had been under a heat lamp for about 20 minutes. It was a frozen patty that was not seasoned at all not wht I expected for around $20 burger. I will not be back or tell others to go there.

Atmosphere, food and entertainment are good. Could be a five if they had more help. Service is slow to none existent, I am not slamming the servers they are great. But they do not have enough servers. We come here 2 to 3 times a month for the food and entertainment. Always have to wait and always have to chase down someone to get porper service.

The food is great, Service is slow. Servers are NOT personalable! It's not like they are too busy during the Car-show. But all in all, food is great. Atmosphere is great. You get a great view of the Promenade. This place does have Happy Hour. And live music on Friday and Saturday nights. There is an area dancing. Indoor dining as well as patio dining

BEST FOOD EVER. Service was amazing and took some time but the food was worth it. I love that place. Me and my family go there often to eat and it was NEVER disappointing. I love downtown cafe so much. WOULD RECOMMEND.

Worst service ever. How do you have a band playing and have maybe 3 people working including the bartender. There should have been a lot more staff at the restaurant. I ordered food and finally an hour later I told them just to forget my order and apparently someone else got my order. No one tried to rectify it and didn't even try to see if I needed anything else. The other person at my table finally got their food and it was cold. Couldn't get a drink. Had to go to the bar. Im not one usually to do reviews but this was probably the worst place I've been to in a long time.

This place breaks my heart. Across the street from the park in downtown El Cajon, there is this inviting place. I love the huge outdoor patio with live music, the cafe seating out front and the indoor restaurant and bar. So much potential that promises more than they can deliver. Stars for having great bands outdoors and pretty good food, but every time I go, me and my friends are commenting about how understaffed they are, which of course creates tension amongst the staff (kind of a downer to hear it thoug), but who wants a bitter bartender telling you they can't accommodate a simple request, don't have the beer you want, while you can see it in their cooler, and they don't have change for $100 (on a large food and drink tab) or a food server who is obviously so stressed that we hesitate to order more...hint to the management, if you support your staff, they'll be able to create more sales. No, they're not that busy, they are just that understaffed, and apparently under supported.

I will say that I loved the ambiance of this place. Came with my friends 💕 and we enjoyed so much fun laughing and sharing. They have a large outside patio. It was a lovely day. I enjoyed a turkey sandwich with 🥑 Avocado. I loved their season fries. Oh, their colorful nachos and nice fresh salsa was very delightful! My friends all loved their dishes!😍
