Super cute museum. We went for the Eric Carle show with our 3 year old and it was a really nice experience. The main galleries are spacious and nice to view, and the special gallery was set up so well for kids to enjoy too. The cafe is sweet for a snack and coffee and the courtyard was really nice too.

If you’re in the Doylestown or nearby area the “Interwoven” exhibit at Michener Art Museum is worth the visit. It’s interesting, visually unique and different from the typical museum exhibitions. Also don’t miss out on their Free Second Sundays.
Loved this place. The staff was very friendly, attentive and informative. The museum is not particularly large, but it was the perfect space to spend a couple of hours on a rainy day. We learned a lot about James Michener's life (we love his books) and respect his investment in contemporary visual arts. We were especially delighted by the Eric Carle exhibit! So many childhood memories. Highly recommend if you're in the Doylestown area.
Took a solo trip to this museum for the first time, it was easy to find, plenty of parking space, it took me a good 2 hours to explore it, the museum staff were really friendly and helpful, the gift shop was small however, they have a small space for little kids. I didn’t purchase tickets in advance, and there was no line on a Friday morning. I certainly wouldn’t suggest taking children there, but its a great space for older kids and adults to explore . Overall I really enjoyed my time !
Wonderful museum so close to us! I've been here many times, most recently to see the Eric Carle exhibit. Previously for the Keith Haring exhibit. Both terrific! Friendly staff, clean venue.
We were invited to attend an evening "Thank You" event at the reception hall in the Michener Art Museum. We had planned to visit the museum, but it never worked out until this event. It was easy to get to, there was plenty of parking, the walkways were easy to navigate & the grounds were clean. Our group had the museum to ourselves. We toured the spacious halls and display rooms leisurely, enjoying the art, photos, furniture, clothing and other displays at our own pace, it was pleasant not to be rushed. The reception room walls were glass, that was surrounded by high stone walls that were lighted by indirect lamps that added a warm feeling to the room. Our meal was catered, we had a delicious salmon that just melted in your mouth and there was a wide selection of beverages. It was a great evening which we thoroughly enjoyed. We will definitely come back to enjoy this museum once again.
The Eric Carle exhibit was amazing! The staff was friendly and helpful, no wait, nice flow through exhibits. Smaller than I expected, but top quality art. Loved the reading room.
Excellent museum. The exhibit is mainly one level accompanied by an outdoor sculpture garden, but despite its smaller size this museum is full of life and personality. It’s a fantastic collection. All of the pieces are coupled with blurbs of text about the piece and/or the artist. Nice mix of contemporary and historical / classic artwork. Much of the art is local, focused on PA and even more specifically Buck’s County, which offers a unique and intimate perspective compared to other museums in the area. The museum itself was one a prison that has since been renovated, so there is another layer of local history. Staff is friendly. Entry fee of $15 is reasonable. Free parking at the public library right next door. Would love to visit again.
