Daytona Beach Main Street Pier

This is a awesome beach and great fishing. The family and I came here to check it out and we loved it. We all were able to play on the beach and of course in the water. Next we fished and caught our limits. Atmosphere is a great example of what to expect from a nice pier and beach. People were nice as well. Tons of stuff to do here.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Family-Friendly - Daytona Beach We visited Daytona Beach during the Christmas holidays with our small kids, and it turned out to be one of our favorite family trips. The weather was beautiful—warm enough for the kids to play in the sand and splash at the shoreline, but still breezy and festive. What really stood out was how family‑friendly everything felt. The beach was clean, spacious, and never too crowded, which made it easy to relax while the kids built sandcastles and chased waves. There were plenty of nearby restaurants with kid‑friendly menus, and holiday decorations around the area added a fun seasonal touch. We also loved how convenient everything was—parking, beach access, and attractions were all close by. Even simple walks along the boardwalk felt magical with the Christmas lights and ocean breeze. Good parking around at 2 min walk, plenty of showers, restrooms, onsite beach chairs & Umbrellas and good restaurants around. Overall, Daytona Beach was the perfect mix of relaxation and family fun. If you’re traveling with young kids during the holidays, this is a fantastic place to create warm memories. We’ll definitely be back.

We were here at Bike Time. Great spot to get to the ocean or walk the pier. Try the taffy! Mostly surf shops. You can get a drink, ice cream and some food options at the Mardi Gras or Kings Pizza. Joe's Crab Shack on the pier offers food and drinks on their main level or on the roof.

Awesome place, with lots of history. The Daytona Beach Main Street Pier, a city landmark, evolved from the original Keating Pier (late 1800s), destroyed by fire in 1920, into the current 1,000-foot structure completed in 1925, featuring a grand ballroom for dances, balls, and events, famously witnessing early beach racing with cars driving under it, and later undergoing major renovations in the 2000s and 2010s to repair storm damage and preserve its historic role as a fishing, dining, and entertainment hub. Early History & Construction Keating Pier (Late 1800s): The first pier, built by Thomas Keating from palm logs, was a local attraction. Fire & Rebuilding (1920s): A major fire in 1920 destroyed Keating Pier, leading Jeter McMillan to build the current, larger pier and casino, opening in 1925. The Pier Casino Era (1925 - 1960s) Grand Ballroom: The 1,000-foot pier housed a Victorian-style casino with a ballroom for 2,000 dancers, hosting top bands, charity balls, and beauty contests. Beach Racing: Pilings were removed to allow race cars (like those of Sir Malcolm Campbell) to pass underneath during land speed record attempts. Stunt Flights: Stunt pilots also flew aircraft beneath the pier. Modern Era & Renovations Fishing & Recreation: The pier became famous for fishing, attracting anglers for species like snook, mackerel, and tarpon, and remains a popular spot. Hurricane Damage: The structure has weathered numerous storms, including hurricanes like Dorian, requiring significant repairs. Restoration: Extensive renovations, including a $3.8 million overhaul in 2012 and further work after 2022 storms, have maintained its historic charm and structural integrity. Today The pier is a central part of the Daytona Beach Boardwalk area, offering fishing, dining, ocean views, and serving as a beloved historic landmark.

We loved visiting this place. It was a great experience as visitors, an excellent opportunity to admire the sea and enjoy the beach if desired. It's a popular spot for tourists and locals who come to the pier to fish. There's a restaurant right on the pier, accessible restrooms, and playground equipment for children.

Really loved our visit. They’re doing a little bit of construction, but it’s gonna turn out pretty nice when all is said and done couple ice cream shops in souvenir shops right at the pier, clean bathrooms, and even a slingshot for thrill seekers.

It was indeed one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to, my 2 son enjoy the sand and the view was incredible.

Loved this boardwalk, I had way more than 50 pics of this area, but reviews will only allow 50. Just get out and take an adventurous walk on the boardwalk and beach!
