Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve

Entry road, parking lot and restrooms are expanded and greatly improved since my last visit a few years ago. The water was up significantly as I was there one day after heavy storms passed thru. The creek was high and rushing with white water, but the falls were dramatically more impressive. Usually people will wade across the top of the falls or in the pool below, but on Sunday, July 5, no one dared venture into the roiling waters. Always worth a visit.

Wonderful. Very nice and secluded but I recommend going on a weekday or small holiday! The waterfall was full and we saw plenty of animals and wildlife. Harmless river snakes by the way!

it's been years since I've been to waterfall Glen. while it's early spring and the trees have not fully come in , it's still a beautiful and picturesque place. it's great that there are multiple trail options with multiple distances. it's great that the path is wide to allow for walkers joggers and cyclists. it's a must stop for anyone in the region. beautiful vistas. limestone out croppings. get out and enjoy nature. and enjoy it here at waterfall Glen.

Very beautiful park. The waterfall is gorgeous, and the river is really lovely. It’s a very pleasant place to walk, whether with dogs, kids, or even by bike.

One of the best trials for walking with family, pets, fishing, picnic, photoshoot. This is a family friendly forest preserve with a small waterfall. It would be much better if you visit during the days when there is water flow. Kids will enjoy. Lot of parking space. Restrooms available. Not much crowded. No need to get tickets, it is free.

Great paths. Easy to walk or push wheelchair. Wildflowers were in bloom.

Beautiful and scenic, I made the mistake of going on a holiday so getting good pics was not ideal but I enjoyed the experience

Waterfall Glen is a massive and beautiful Forest Preserve. If you go around the entire loop + the Rocky Glen trail to see the waterfall, it's about 10.5 miles total. The trail was crushed limestone throughout and in great condition. I went on a gorgeous Sunday morning in April as soon as the Preserve opened, and it was already busy! There were a ton of bikers and runners/joggers, but the trail is wide enough to accommodate the number of people on it. The waterfall was beautiful, as well as the scenic overlook. If you park in the main parking lot and follow the main trail, it's about 6 miles from the trailhead. There's also a parking lot much closer to the waterfall. If you go around the full loop, there's a few road crossings and some walking along the road for short stints. Cass Road was the busiest road to cross and longest crossing. Overall, this is a must visit forest preserve, whether you want an extended hike/run/bike ride, just to see the waterfall, or both!
