The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is one of my family’s favorite places to visit year-round. As members, every visit feels special because the gardens change so beautifully with each season and holiday. Whether it’s spring flowers, fall displays, Christmas decorations, or simply a peaceful walk through the grounds, there is always something beautiful to see. The property is well cared for, relaxing, and full of charm. It’s a wonderful place to spend time outdoors, take photos, enjoy nature, and make memories. We truly appreciate having such a beautiful garden to visit throughout the year and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Dallas or looking for a special place to enjoy.

This is a small museum with a beautiful 2-story butterfly garden. Thank goodness it was air conditioned when we went in the summer. There were tons of butterflies (and quails)! You can hang out as long as you want, but they do a butterfly release at noon. The reptile space and art areas are very small, but interesting. The arboretum is really pleasant. You can walk around admiring the different parts of the garden, then chill by the shade trees or the lake. They have a playground for the kids, lots of walkways, and even a space for weddings. It's a lovely space for strolling and admiring nature. Plus it is located by the fair grounds, the Aquarium, the Cotton Bowl, and the parking was free!

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is absolutely breathtaking and easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. From the moment you enter, you’re surrounded by perfectly maintained gardens, vibrant seasonal flowers, and peaceful walking paths that make the entire experience feel almost magical. Every section of the Arboretum feels thoughtfully designed, from the wide-open lawns overlooking the water to the intimate garden spaces filled with color and detail. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, breathe, and genuinely appreciate nature at its finest. What stood out most to me was how peaceful and clean everything is. Despite how popular it is, the grounds are immaculate and well cared for, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. It’s perfect for families, couples, or anyone who just needs a break from the busy world. There’s also something special about how it changes with the seasons—each visit feels different, like a new experience every time you go. Overall, the Arboretum is not just a garden; it’s an experience of beauty, calm, and inspiration. Without a doubt, one of Dallas’s true gems and a place I would highly recommend to anyone.

Hunt Slonum Exhibit - Giant rabbits, butterflies and Tucans are placed throughout the gardens for artful surprises around every corner! This is a terrific exhibit for photo ops. Pro Tip: attending during the week is a must, as this garden is overrun with people on the weekend. The Grill is open for a drink while visiting. Also is a perfect environment for getting steps! Bring mosquito/bug spray and a hat. The arboretum has fully paved paths, so getting around on a walker, cane or wheelchair is fairly easy, but there are elevation changes. About 20 handicap parking spaces are available, but a walk of about 50 feet from that parking to the entrance. There is a lot of shade, but Dallas humidity makes it somewhat uncomfortable here during the heat of the summer. If you have a membership, they will ask to see an ID, so bring it! You’ll get in much faster :).

The gardens were absolutely beautiful to wander. I came on a rainy, or rather, drizzling day, and all the colors were deep and stunning. The layout provides many areas for private walking and thinking, as well as grand, open lookouts onto green lawns or the lake. I stopped by with extra time I had before my flight to leave town, and I'm very grateful that I did. What a great way to end a weekend getaway.

I’ve been coming to the Dallas Arboretum since the ‘90s, and it’s still one of my favorite places to visit. I have so many great memories here with my family, and every time I come back, I’m reminded why I love it so much! The gardens are always beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly well maintained. From the seasonal displays to the koi ponds and hidden paths, there’s always something new to see and appreciate. It’s the perfect place to slow down and enjoy nature. The Dallas Arboretum never disappoints! I always look forward to coming back!

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is one of those places that resets your whole mood the second you walk in. From the moment you step onto the grounds, everything feels intentional clean paths, peaceful views, and gardens that look like they were crafted with real care. The variety is what stands out. You go from vibrant seasonal flowers to quiet shaded areas overlooking White Rock Lake, and every section feels like its own experience. If you’re into photos, this place is a goldmine. Every corner is picture-worthy without even trying. If you’re into peace and quiet, you’ll find spots to just sit, breathe, and slow things down. And if you bring family, it’s structured in a way where kids can enjoy it too without it feeling chaotic. What really impressed me was how well-maintained everything is. You can tell they take pride in keeping the gardens looking top-tier year-round. It doesn’t feel run down or rushed it feels cared for. Perfect for a solo reset, a date, or just getting away from the noise of the city for a bit. Highly recommend if you’re anywhere near Dallas. This isn’t just a quick stop it’s an experience.

Beautiful. But recommend wearing comfortable shoes. Lots of walking. Also, insider tip, you can bring your own food and drink inside the park. Lots of beautiful places to have a little picnic. Great place for photos. Great venue for parties, weddings and other events.
