We went on a Saturday during lunchtime and it was busy but not crowded. It's near Love field and right down the road from the new Aircraft Observation Area so a nice combo outing. A few retired aircraft outside to look at but most everything is inside. We were greeted by a volunteer who gave us a map and a brief overview of what to expect, a super nice Vietnam retiree. It is a two story building but wheelchair accessible. They also have a window to view a runway to watch takeoff and landings. When we went there was a special exhibit of the Hindenberg, included in the price. There is a large play area for children and a few actual Southwest Airlines planes to walk in to. Very nice and open. With the history of aircraft laid out in an easy to walk method.

Frontiers of Flight Museum is an impressive aviation and space museum located at the southeast corner of Dallas Love Field, offering a comprehensive look into the history of flight. Located inside a massive 100,000-square-foot hangar, the space is filled with aircraft, spacecraft, and detailed exhibits that span early aviation up to modern space exploration. What stood out to me was how accessible and well-organized the displays are, allowing you to get up close to historic airframes and learn the stories behind them. The extensive aircraft collection is easily the main draw of the museum. High-profile displays like the Apollo 7 command module give you a rare look at real space exploration hardware, while classic aircraft like the Chance Vought V-173 "Flying Pancake" highlight experimental military designs. Walkways and elevated viewing areas let you see the planes from multiple angles, giving you a strong sense of the scale and engineering involved in each build. Beyond the military and space artifacts, the museum features a deep connection to commercial aviation history, particularly Southwest Airlines. The Southwest Airlines exhibit area showcases historical uniforms, artifacts, and a full Boeing 737-300 fuselage that visitors can step inside to explore. There are also interactive flight simulators, model collections, and educational displays for children, making it a well-rounded stop for all ages. The layout is spacious and easy to navigate, with clear signage and helpful volunteers scattered throughout the floor who are eager to share background details about the collection. Parking is convenient and free on-site, and the location right next to Love Field means you occasionally get views of active commercial flights taking off and landing nearby. Overall, Frontiers of Flight Museum is a great destination for aviation enthusiasts, history buffs, and families visiting Dallas. The diversity of the collection, the inclusion of authentic spaceflight history, and the engaging layout make it a spot I would easily recommend checking out when you are in the area.

We had a blast here. The staff was friendly and they have a lot of full size planes on display. They even have a space capsule and moon rocks. There is also a playground for the kids and the cafe being remodeled. To top it off, it’s right next to DAL airport and the museum has an observation window where you can see planes take off and land.

A fascinating museum of aviation history. Smaller than the one in Seattle but they have a superb collection that includes cockpit of an SR-71 blackbird! Plus 2 Southwest 737s, an F-18 from the Blue Angels and an F-16. Lots of memorabilia from WW1 WW2 as well

The airplane exhibits were fantastic to look at and read up on the history behind them. Everyone including the volunteers at the front entrance were super friendly and informative. The food and drink at the cafe were delicious. The simulators were unfortunately not working, but hopefully they get this back up and running in the future. Great place for young kids to play at too!

100% all American aviation history no other country in the world comes close to the United States of America when it comes flight. The exhibits, the airplanes on display, great models, the diagrams, the posters and memoriablilty take you all back in time to real challenging time with the United States yet innovating itself out of crisis. Every airplane here in this wonderful museum is an advancement upon a previous design that that moved human society forward. Only in the freest country in the world.

Overall, it was pretty neat to know more about the history of flying even before planes such as balloons. Seeing the vintage planes on display including the former Southwest Airlines planes was interesting too. The downside was that it was dim in the inside like an old hangar and the admission prices were a little steep, but otherwise I enjoyed the museum.
