My visit to the Columbia Museum of Art was an amazing experience from start to finish. The host and staff were incredibly welcoming, informative, and helpful, especially for first-time visitors. They took the time to explain the museum and made the experience feel personal and engaging. The museum itself is full of history, culture, and beautiful artwork from many different time periods. I really enjoyed learning about the different eras represented throughout the exhibits and seeing how history, art, and storytelling all came together in one place. There was so much to take in, and every section had something unique and meaningful to offer. The atmosphere was peaceful, educational, and inspiring. You can tell a lot of care goes into the exhibits and the overall visitor experience. Whether you enjoy art, history, or just learning something new, this museum is definitely worth visiting. I would absolutely come back again and recommend it to anyone visiting Columbia.

Visitor notes
We visited while they had a, now over, exhibit on Keith Haring. It was great, large exhibition. Their permanent collection was nice as well. It has a nice variety of works, including works of some of history's most famous artists.
If you're looking for a venue to host a conference, workshop, corporate event, or special gathering, I cannot recommend the Columbia Museum of Art enough. From the very beginning, Alexis Doktor and her phenomenal team made the planning process seamless. They were incredibly accommodating, responsive, professional, and genuinely invested in helping make our vision for ELEVATE 2026 a success. Every question was answered, every need was met, and every challenge was handled with excellence and grace. The venue itself was absolutely perfect. Beautiful, modern, welcoming, and flexible enough to create an unforgettable experience for more than 300 attendees. The atmosphere elevated our event in every way. Ironically, our only disappointment is that ELEVATE outgrew the space in its very first year. If we hadn't exceeded our expectations so quickly, we would absolutely be returning year after year. A heartfelt thank you to Alexis Doktor and the entire Columbia Museum of Art events staff for your outstanding hospitality, professionalism, and commitment to excellence. You played a major role in helping bring our vision to life, and we are forever grateful. Hats off to an incredible team. We wish you continued success and hope our paths cross again soon!
Enjoyed doing the scavenger hunt, it forced us to really pay attention to the details in the art. Wonderful mom and daughter outing. Was free for local residents.
An absolute amazing experience was had this past 9 months planning our funeral conference at CMA! Alexis Doctor made it happen from day 1! She delivered outstanding customer service care and satisfaction! She was consistent, authentic and we loved working with her. She didn’t miss a beat and always responded with a smile and a resolution! A true gem!!! Thanks Alexis for everything!!!! 🫶🏾
It was very nice. I didn't know what to expect because I wouldn't say I'm an artsy person. I was looking for something to do to get out of the house and I had a great time. Everything is presented nicely and even the outside entrance area was very nice to just spend some time in.
The main exhibit on the second floor was closed, and the first-floor section was only partially accessible due to filming. While admission is free for South Carolina residents, out-of-state visitors are charged a $15 entry fee. Paying full price to see barely a quarter of the museum felt like a pretty raw deal.
The exhibition for Keith Haring was pretty cool and brought back memories. The African American museum was exceptional. Both employees had great knowledge regarding the exhibition. No pictures of the Haring exhibition were allowed
