It was an excellent adventure! I went with family who were from out of town. They thoroughly enjoyed it. From the far reaches of Australia, to the remote parts of Africa and India, you will see exotic animals and various species that everyone will love. This includes the American Alligator and the Mountain Lions! They are beautiful and known as the cougar or puma. The cougars are by far are my absolute favorite animals. They are so majestic. They, as well as the wolf, and many others, need more space. This is the one thing I find a little bit sad, but the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo takes time to care for and maintain the world’s most amazing animals for us to see. The zoo has an American bald eagle who will never fly again. Seeing the nation's treasured bird being taken care of because it will never survive on its own, made my heart sore with pride and love the fact we as a nation will celebrate our 250th birthday this coming July 4th! Amazing!

I can't believe I've never been here. This zoo feels so spacious and well designed with sections of diverse landscape and sprawling layout on the side of the mountain. I'd easily spend 5 hours here with the family and feel like I'm out in the wild with animals roaming the common areas. Super interactive with a lot of volunteers that can help with fun facts and background on the animal's history. What a lovely place and definitely worth the extra drive from Denver.

Nice zoo. Mostly set up on a mountain which was differenr than other zoos. Shuttle for $3.00 to help take visitors to different areas of the zoo. Ate at the restaurant Pizza with a View which was inside the zoo. The pizza was cooked in a brick style oven and the crust was amazing. Grear overlook of park as well. Reserve your etickets, bring comfortable walking shoes and a walking stick to help with the steep hills. Great place to go.

The best zoo that we have ever been to everyone there was knowledgeable about any and everything we had questions about every animal. The staff was all super friendly and we actually got to see all of the animals. Unlike the zoo where we live in Tulsa, Oklahoma it’s awesome. Definitely worth going to.

Great place for families, but also for people like me, exploring by myself. Plenty to see. Very highly conservation conscious. The feeding times and demonstrations are great for all ages and very education. They do a great job of not making it feel like the animals are just there for show, but they use the time to engage people in taking care of them. There is a sky lift for something like $6 and that is sooooo awesome!!! There is also a shuttle to take you to the different areas which really came in handy. The little golf cart shuttles are also Ada compliant if that’s a concern for you. It is $3 for the full day. If you pay at the shuttle it is cash only. But they do have an atm. Or you can pay at the front (which I recommend). Some of the staff didn’t know answers to questions, which I found really frustrating, but ultimately, the staff has pretty good customer service… ESPECIALLY: the girl who ran the lift at the top.

We had an amazing experience at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo! We went on a Monday and arrived right at 10:00 AM—there was no wait to get in, which made for a smooth start to the day. We rented a stroller, and that was definitely the right call with some of the longer walking stretches throughout the zoo. It made everything much more manageable and enjoyable. The highlights for us were the giraffe feeding and bird feeding—such a cool, hands-on experience! We were able to get up close to so many amazing animals, which really made the visit memorable. One tip: go early in the day! It made a big difference with crowds and overall experience. We also packed our own snacks and drinks, which helped a lot as the day went on. Highly recommend for families—such a fun and unique zoo experience!

This zoo is the BEST zoo I've been to in the southwest. We went in March 2026, took my 11 yr old grand daughter, my 18 yr old daughter and my mom (71 yrs). I'm in my late 40s and we all had a great time! There is a snack truck and restroom at every exhibit along with a place to sit. It was not difficult to find exhibits either. My elderly mother doesn't have the best back when it comes to walking and yet, she found it quite steady to move around at the zoo. We also went on the skyride, its an extra $5 per person, it was very pleasant to ride and saw the rest of the zoo. Our whole trip took 4 hours and some change. You can also feed giraffes! Amazing experience and highly recommend! I would go again also.

This Zoo was not impressive to me. I have seen Zoos all over the world, and these enclosures were small, and the animals we saw did not seem very active. There were also a lot of hills and walking, but not much space on a busy day, as the paths felt pretty narrow compared to other Zoos. I do acknowledge they are on a mountainside, and this may be why. Also, they have only 40 acres, which is small, and for the price, not a lot to see. I don't want to pay for "views of the city," and every animal activity costs an extra $39. The hippo's water was unnaturally green. There may be a reason, but it didn't look clean. The giraffe feeding was fun, but one poor momma was isolated, just licking branches as if she were trying to find leaves to eat, as she would in the wild, but they were just bare branches, and it was a little heartbreaking. The budgie feeding was awful, and the birds seemed overwhelmed. There was no management on how many people could be in the area at once. The sky coaster is in complete disrepair, with the seats of almost all of them torn. The staff was helpful and friendly in all other areas, which is the only real positive I can say.
