We only had about an hour to visit The Cleveland Museum of Art, so we focused on a few highlights. Even that short visit was impressive. We checked out the armor and sword collections, the Egyptian galleries, and a really fun interactive area where you can simulate creating art. The museum itself is beautiful. The welcome building connects to the main museum through a huge covered courtyard that feels very open and welcoming. Admission is free, which is incredible for a museum of this quality. Parking was $14 and easy. The natural history museum is also right next door, so this area would be perfect for spending an entire day exploring. We were also impressed to learn that the museum is considered one of the richest art museums in the U.S. Even with our quick visit, the depth of the collection was clear. We definitely wish we had more time to explore the Asian art galleries and the rest of the museum. Next time we’re in Cleveland, we’ll plan to spend much longer here.

An exceptional world class museum and one of the standout cultural attractions in Cleveland. The fact that it offers free admission makes it even more impressive. Inside, you’ll find everything from ancient artifacts to modern masterpieces, including remarkable displays of armor, along with iconic works by Picasso, Van Gogh, and Andy Warhol, which together create a truly memorable journey through art history. The atrium is especially stunning, spacious, bright, and beautifully designed, it immediately sets a welcoming tone for the visit. The museum as a whole feels open and peaceful, with elegant architecture and thoughtfully arranged galleries that make it easy to spend hours exploring.

Such an amazing place! No admission fees. Many incredible pieces of art. We are having our engagement photos created here so we went to explore in advance. We'll certainly go back! Definitely recommend!

There’s nothing like it - you could spend days wandering through galleries and never see it all…and it’s free! There are periodically special exhibits with a ticket charge, but they’re always more than worth it (e.g. the current Italian fashion exhibit and the recent Takashi Murakami installation). You’ll find it all here - old masters, impressionists, ancient sculpture…plus a lovely atrium, restaurant, gift shop, and attached parking.

by far my favorite museum I've ever been to. it's absolutely stunning inside, do not expect the typical white wall experience, the building is historical as well and the architecture is just beautiful. and admission is free! there is a section you can purchase tickets for but the rest of the museum is free for all. will always recommend this museum, personally I would say to set aside a good 3-4 hours to truly soak it in

We were there with our 12 year old grandson who does like to draw. We took them free tour and it was perfect. The docent was a retired 6th grade teacher and she was very patient with him. The tour was about how mathematics can be used in art to provide perspective and dimension. It was interesting and just long enough that he wasn't bored. The Cafe on the main level had a good selection of freshly made food and it was nice to sit in the atrium to eat. The gift shop also had unique things to buy

I really enjoyed the Cleveland museum of art. It's laid out nicely, and there are some very interesting exhibits. The medieval room is really cool with all the armor. Out of all the paintings my favorite that I saw was Gray and Gold, 1942. Look it up. They also had some of the usual heavy hitters. I didn't even make it through who won four in 3 hours or so. I will revisit next time I'm in town.

The museum architecture is its own work of Art. Thoughtful design and inviting public spaces lend warmth to explore the art held within its walls. The use of glass and varieties of texture are impressive. What a treasure for the city of Cleveland-a museum one can visit for free.
