I had a great experience at The Skin Care Center. The staff was friendly, professional, and very organized from check-in to checkout. The dermatologist took the time to listen to my concerns, explained everything clearly, and made me feel comfortable throughout the appointment. I never felt rushed, and the care was thorough and attentive. The office was clean, efficient, and welcoming. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and caring dermatology team!

ALL the LADIES at this DERMATOLOGY OFFICE DESERVE 5 STARS. FIRST TIME at this DERMATOLOGY OFFICE. I want to say that first. HOWEVER, JESUS SAVIOR of the WORLD & the YOUNG ladies there that treated me with KINDNESS & RESPECT, are the ONLY THINGS that kept me from cursing DR. BURK OUT. I did not want to make a scene. But, THEY are the ONLY REASON that I was expecting an excellent experience and service, because I first received excellent service from the office team and nurses. The ladies were so nice and professional. After looking at their website I see there are at least 16 doctors at that location. Being my FIRST TIME there, I had no clue which Dr. is a BETTER choice over any others. UNFORTUNATELY, I AM ONLY ABLE TO GIVE YOUR OFFICES ONE STAR BECAUSE of DR. BURK. ALL the ladies were very nice and professional. They were a JOY to meet and work with, especially the young ladies that helped me with setting up the initial appointment, then the check in at the front desk & the nurse that counseled me before the doctor got there. That part of the experience was very pleasant, great customer service. If I ever need to make another DERMATOLOGY APPOINTMENT, you can be SURE IT WILL NEVER BE WITH DR. BURK AGAIN. BECAUSE the ladies in the office were so nice. I was expecting the same KINDNESS and RESPECT & GREAT EXPERIENCE from Dr. BURK. BUT BOY was SHOCKED and VERY DISAPPOINTED after being seen by him. HE was VERY CONDESCENDING. I was already stressed about my skin condition, I did not need the poorly disguised fat insults. WORLDWIDE COUSINS, If you must go, JUST AVOID choosing Dr. BURK who has NO FILTER and ZERO CONCERN about how his INSULTING COMMENTS are received by his CLIENTS. Fyi Dr. BURK, YOU are not the first OLD TIRED QUEEN that has attempted to FAT SHAME ME. YOUR CONDESCENDING comments about my weight and my funny body shape were uncalled for and very very unprofessional, disrespectful. YOUR Attempt to disguise it as clinical advice is IGNORANT. YOU CAN KISS MY ODD Shaped ASSETS!! I WILL NEVER BE BACK, and I ALSO RECOMMED OTHER CLIENTS to CHOOSE ANOTHER DOCTOR & TO AVOID YOU. HAVE a GREAT DAY!! To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the care I received during my recent dermatology appointment with MD Mark Berk. As a pharmacist, I have a clinical background and came to this visit with specific, well-considered concerns regarding acne, hair loss, and hyperpigmentation. Unfortunately, the encounter fell significantly short of acceptable standards of patient care. From the moment the physician entered the room, the interaction felt rushed and dismissive. He spoke rapidly, offered no opportunity for me to fully articulate my concerns, and at no point did he pause to ensure I understood his assessment. Rather than engaging in a thorough clinical evaluation, he appeared to be moving through the appointment without genuine attention to my history or questions. Regarding my hair loss, the physician attributed it entirely to anemia without offering any supporting rationale, ordering diagnostic tests, or acknowledging that my hair loss predated my anemia, a point I explicitly raised. No differential diagnoses were presented, no workup was initiated, and no timeline or follow-up plan was established. When I asked what the plan was, he was already leaving the room. I had to call after him as he walked out, and even then, my questions were not meaningfully addressed. Regarding my acne, I informed him that my skin barrier was already compromised and that I was sensitive to many topical treatments. His response was to prescribe topicals anyway and, when I raised my concerns, to tell me to "wait it out" — with no explanation, no alternative plan, and no patient education. I directly asked how to address my skin barrier and received no answer. My question about hyperpigmentation was ignored entirely. I have received multiple referrals to dermatology from several different providers, all of whom indicated that a dermatologist would be better equipped to address my concerns. This appointment did not fulfill that expectation. I left with no new clinical information, no diagnosis, no diagnostic plan, and no meaningful follow-up strategy, only the same guidance I had already received from primary care. It is worth noting that the nurse or medical assistant who was present during the visit showed considerably more professionalism and attempted to clarify the plan on the physician's behalf. The physician, however, did not return as indicated. I am back to square one, with mo explanation and way to treat my acne and I am exhausted from paying big bucks to specialists who are extremely unhelpful. I am requesting a formal review of this encounter. Patients deserve to leave appointments with a clear understanding of their diagnosis, the rationale behind their treatment plan, and a defined path forward. That standard was not met. I hope this feedback is used to improve the quality of care provided to future patients.

If there were an option to give less than one star, I would. As a new patient, my experience with this practice was disappointing from start to finish. I arrived 10 minutes early to complete paperwork, waited over 30 minutes without any update, and had to ask the receptionist what the delay was. After being taken back, I waited another 10 minutes before seeing Dr. Singh. No one acknowledged that they were running more than 40 minutes behind schedule or offered an apology. The problems continued after the appointment. Dr. Singh recommended another physician in the practice for a procedure, but the front desk mistakenly scheduled me with Dr. Singh instead. By the time I called to correct the error the next day, the recommended physician no longer had availability. I asked to speak with a manager, was promised a call back, and never heard from anyone. I later discovered the incorrect appointment hadn't even been canceled. The entire experience was disorganized and unprofessional. As a new patient, this was a terrible first impression, and I will not be returning. If you value your time and expect basic communication and follow-through, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

I have been going here for years. Haley Thornton is great, but I can no longer deal with the lazy backroom office of this shady company. I recently changed health insurance (from one Blue Cross plan to another) so I checked with this office THREE DIFFERENT TIMES to make sure they were still in network and my skin check would be covered. I paid my $100 copay (which is already ridiculous for preventive care) and then Blue Cross said they were out of network and charged me an extra $150. I talked to several clueless front desk people and then a super rude woman in the billing department, who refused to charge me the out of pocket cost because it had already been billed to my insurance. So I have to pay $250 just to make sure I don’t have skin cancer! Never again. (Sorry, Haley.) My advice? Don’t trust these people. There are plenty of other dermatologists in the city who can actually do their due diligence when asked.

Dr. Berk listened to my concerns, explained what was going on in a language I could easily understand, explained my options, and then did the procedures in a relatively painless way. I was in and out of my annual dermatology review in about 20 minutes. Thanks for professional and timely great service. I plan to come back again next year. With joy Allen Stryczek

I visit the clinic for treatment the dr and the staff they took the time to explain the entire procedure they took care of me they make me so comfortable I am already seeing great improvements in my skin after just two weeks I am so happy with my results

Excellent and thorough care. The PA (whose name I’ve forgotten) was super lovely and helpful. Dr. Berk awesome as always.
