A quaint & woodsy neighborhood Italian spot with an intimate vibe. We tried the New York strip, scallop fettuccine, and grilled zucchini 1 everything was solid and comforting across the board. One small downside was a 2.75% surcharge added to the bill that couldn’t be removed, which felt a bit off-putting. Otherwise, it’s a pleasant spot for a cozy Italian meal.

PR Italian Bistro is our neighborhood go-to. The moment you walk in, it just feels like home—warm, welcoming, and relaxed. The food is spectacular. Start with the focaccia and the Gamberi all’Aglio. The shrimp were perfectly cooked in a rich red sauce that was the standout of the night. For mains, the spaghetti bolognese is a must—hearty with exceptional ragù and a rich sauce that clings perfectly to the pasta. The Linguine Padovani was also fantastic, with fresh vegetables and generous chunks of chicken. Our waiter Bryson was great and really added to the neighborhood charm of the place.

For years now, I have felt so spoiled having this spectacular restaurant, PR Italian Bistro, just a few blocks from home in Lakeview/Wrigleyville. Stefano, the owner, recently baked a seafood lasagna with lobster and shrimp. Our whole table was moaning because it was so delicious! When we asked Stefano to stop by so we could say “Thank You”, he shared that it was his mother’s recipe from Venice! You can’t go wrong here on Sheridan just south of Irving Park Road. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the bartenders are friendly and helpful. Big pre and post Cubs crowd and they don’t take reservations so plan accordingly. You will love this very special slice of Heaven!

One of the worst dining experiences of my life. Where to begin? Well, the terrible service would be a good start. It took an hour and a quarter to receive our main courses. These were brought out one at a time in 5 minute intervals so that each person's meal would get cold unless they simply started eating (which I encouraged them to do). When we finished our meal, it took 15 minutes for the busboy to clear the dirty plates from the table. We ordered a cippolini onion salad as a first course which sounded delicious. Unfortunately, they never served it but managed to include it on the check at the end of the night (removed when I complained to the server). Now, the food. The fried artichokes and garlic bread were excellent and a good start. Had we stopped there, this review might have been better. The server highly recommended the Branzino which I ordered. If the fish that was served to me was Branzino, I'll be selected the next Chicago Pope after Leo retires. I received a shriveled piece of fish that looked like it was a Tilapia remnant from the Chicago River before it was cleaned up for kayaking. It was tasteless, dried out, and barely had any meat. After 5 bites, the fish was gone. All this for $30. Another person in our party had the "Blackboard" special pasta. It was rubbery and tasteless. I could be more snarky and go on but I won't. The bill for 4 including drinks was $250! Pretty outrageous. It's a shame because it's a nicely designed restaurant in a great neighborhood where I used to live. I was happy to see it there and excited to try it. I won't make that mistake again. Seriously do better.

A really lovely (if a little too dimly lit) atmosphere. Good happy hour drinks. Incredible food. I got the veggie lasagna and it was probably the best I've ever had. Delicious

We had such a great experience at The PR Restaurant! Everything we ordered was so delicious and fresh. The flavors were amazing, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Definitely a place I would come back to and recommend to others!

3 stars because 2 1/2 wasn't an option. Meh food. The meatballs were pretty good but the chicken in the Linguine Padovani was tough, very dry, and underseasoned. The linguine was cooked past al dente. The foccacia was ok but the olive oil for dipping was bland, didn't taste at all like an Italian EVOO, and lacked seasoning. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Friday night yet the service was lacking. Our waiter, at best, was indifferent. As he refilled the water glass, he sloshed quite a bit of water leaving a shallow pool in the center of the table. I believe the chef brought the food out, just dropping it at the table in a very drive-by manner, mumbling something in Italian as he continued walking away. Disappointing for the price on several levels.

Wow! I’ve lived in Lakeview for about 13 years and this was my first time here, although i’ve tried many other times but never worked out. To be able to say I had the opportunity to TASTE the food, is truly a culinary experience! We had a variety of dishes to really explore the menu and judge the talent of the chef’s creations! We ordered the Paccheri Campanello, which was spectacularly prepared and piping hot when it arrived, which is rare these days! Next up was the Pollo Chioggia, also phenomenal, a lemon wedge would have been an even better touch! The appetizer Gamberi Aglio Arrostito was a treat! Would’ve loved some more bread, possibly thinner and lemon wedge would have blown this dish out the water! Dessert was a definite and boy were we glad we ordered it, italian bread pudding with vanilla gelato, warm, light and glorious! The drinks were also amazing and creatively prepared… Black Currant Gin Fizz & Cranberry Margaritas! …oh and the limoncello before dessert was EPIC!! The worse part of the meal was when I made the MISTAKE to order the rustic Margherita pizza! I tasted one slice and regretted it almost immediately. (definitely a waste) The crust had a terrible consistency, flavor and definitely does not fit with the spectacular dishes that we had the privilege to taste. THE STAFF ARE PHENOMENAL!! WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!! We even ordered carryout the next evening it was that DAMN GOOD!!
