Moe's Cantina - River North

⭐️ 1 star — Extremely disappointing. Read before dining This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had, especially considering the very high prices. The food quality was poor and absolutely not worth what they charge. We spent a significant amount of money and left feeling completely ripped off. The situation was made much worse by the nonprofessional manager and crew. The manager was rude, dismissive, and untrained in basic customer service, and the staff showed no care or accountability. This is unacceptable behavior for any restaurant, let alone one charging premium prices. On top of everything, the restrooms were dirty and poorly maintained, which is a huge red flag and honestly disgusting. Cleanliness should be the bare minimum. Between the overpriced low-quality food, unprofessional management and staff, and dirty restrooms, I strongly warn others to avoid this place. There are far better options that actually respect their customers

I had an amazing experience at Moe’s Cantina in River North during the holiday season! The Christmas spirit was truly alive in the atmosphere, with festive decorations and cheerful music enhancing the overall vibe. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to make our visit special. It was a perfect spot to enjoy delicious food and drinks while soaking in the holiday cheer. I highly recommend Moe’s Cantina for anyone looking to celebrate the season in a fun and festive environment!

I am not a sports person at all but seeing the bears’ last game was so fun because of Moe’s River North! Very spacious, good and diverse music, super nice and fun staff, and yummy food! We ordered Elotes, ribeye tacos, chips and guac, wings, and the margarita tower which was a nice presentation - the strawberry and mango margs were my favorite! Customer service and management was so great - we were constantly checked in on and didn’t have to wait long for anything we ordered throughout the night and were given recommendations! I can’t wait to come back.

One of the best spots in River North. Vanessa and Javi were very welcoming and made sure my friends and I were sorted at all times. Atmosphere was brilliant and the food was great too. Five stars all around.

We made reservations for me and my cousins for her 21st birthday but refused to sit us until we guaranteed to get bottle service. We were willing to get bottle service until then because supposedly “they can only sit 8” when we reserved for 10. Or else we can go somewhere else. The “manager” and the host refused to speak to us further because “we were yelling” but it’s club and it’s loud… also once they sat us they made us move over. Horrible. The one in the photo the is the host getting the someone’s instagram (after they made us move from that exact table 20min before closing) and the there was a taller guy who claimed to be the manager.

We arrived at 6:52 PM for our 7:00 PM reservation for a party of six, but we weren't seated until after 7:30 PM. After waiting 30 minutes, I asked the manager if we could be seated at an actual table that was open instead of being placed in the back room. He claimed our reservation was seated at 7:04 PM which was simply not true. We had been there before 7:00 PM and were still waiting to be seated. To make matters worse, we were eventually placed in a strange back room instead of the main dining area with no real table to eat at. The service continued to disappoint. The bartenders didn't seem to know how to make even basic cocktails, and when we asked for a beer bucket from our server, we were told, "We aren't doing buckets," despite multiple tables around us clearly having them. Overall, this was a frustrating experience from start to finish. Poor organization, inconsistent service, and a lack of accountability made for a very disappointing

The food was pretty good, smaller portioned than I expected, but it came out very fast after we placed our order. The drinks were tasty and freshly made. The restaurant is very large and energetic. Our poor server was having to take care of half the restaurant. She was very pleasant and did her best, but getting our drinks took way longer than it should have. Word of advice, order two or three drinks at a time.

I would have rated this place 5 stars because my group and I ended up having a good time but I have a few complaints. First, there was a bartender that did not want to respect our group wristband timeframe which I had bought 7 starting at 7:30pm-10:30pm the bartender wanted us to stop at 9:30pm luckily, I had the email where the event planner told me the wristbands were for 7:30pm-10:30pm and they respected it but one of the bartenders had an attitude after that encounter (my girls were tipping them) Secondly, you guys this is obviously a place to have a fun and good time and my group is not obnoxious or trouble making at all but I ended up puking because I ate too much and one of my friends as well but we were not “wasted” to be sent home we both went to the restroom quietly and made it to the toilet and the girl in there was already trying to send us home… Security was trying to send us home because one of my friends went to vomit in the bathroom and she was alone… I went to vomit and I was with my other two friends. Long story short they didn’t tell me nothing because I felt fine after that but when my other friend went to the restroom to vomit alone security was trying to send her home… they let us stay because we pointed out that we had spent so much money $500+ drinks, food, etc. because I was celebrating my birthday and it was not fair that they were trying to send her home (she was not wasted or super drunk). I just found it unpleasant and felt like that was completely unfair especially because we were a very respectful group of girls just dancing and having a good time. Overall, if those two small hiccups didn’t happen I would have rated this place a 5 star. Food was good and the dj was GREAT, manager and waiter kept checking in during the dinner portion which was nice. I would recommend this place to other people trying to have a great time with good music to dance to which was what I enjoyed the most. Just be warned if you are going to go throw up make sure you let the girl in the bathroom know you’re okay …if you are okay… we are all about safe and responsible drinking.
