Everything was incredible. From the food to the service, there was no other rating than a 10/10. Our server Hector was so attentive to our large group making it such a good experience. Chef Will came over to our table to check in, making sure we were enjoying everything. The sweetest surprise at the end was the cake for Pride Month. Not only did it make me so happy to see, it was dangerously good. The food was incredible and the service was what made the entire dining experience so good that we’re ready to make another reservation for 10 again!

One of the better dining eyes have had in years. This place is old school in all the great ways. We started at the bar with cocktails. Professional bartenders not mixologists. These guys have personalities. Then we went upstairs for dinner. Service was spot on. We started with grilled calamari and baked clams. Then an Italian salad. We got a bisteaka Florentina (spelling) and a rigatoni carbonara for the table along with creamed spinach. Outstanding!! Great wine list too. We finished with spamoni and coffees. If you have not been go. I highly recommend

This place feels like being in a trattoria in Italy — truly warm and cozy. The pastas were delicious, especially mine: the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, which reminded me of my nonna’s recipe. One of the best I’ve had in the United States. The meat was also good, but the real star of the night was definitely the pasta.

Perfect celebratory meal! We started with the smoked shrimp cocktail, N/A Negroni and their “heavenly” Manhattan to drink. I had the 12 oz filet and my husband got the 14 oz NY strip with bernaise for our mains. Both were cooked a perfect medium rare with a great char. We shared the grilled asparagus and potato supreme for sides. I had a glass of the Il Bruciato Super Tuscan with my steak. Everything was absolutely delicious. Wonderful service. Lively, familial yet upscale ambiance. Pricey! But we were celebrating and it felt so worth it. We were stuffed, so we ordered a slice of the chocolate cake to go for dessert. So glad we did. Phenomenal. Highly recommend the Chicago institution!

Had a wonderful evening at Gene & Georgetti. Great food, outstanding service, and an atmosphere that feels uniquely Chicago. The staff was friendly and attentive, and you can tell why this restaurant has been a favorite for generations. A memorable dining experience from start to finish.

Nice Italian restaurant serving traditional dishes that are well made. The tagliatelle al ragù were good (just the pasta was a bit overcooked if I need to find a defect) and the chicken parm also was good, chicken was cooked perfectly. The ambience reminded me of a typical old style Italian restaurant and service was kind. Waiting time to have a table was quite long.

Our fairly large group had a fantastic time at dinner this past week. Our server Hector was so kind and kept our glasses full and plates replenished. I would highly recommend the Fiorentina for larger groups so we can order more plates and try it all. Will definitely be returning!

I really wanted to like this place but was let down overall by their steak. Ambiance is really nice great drinks probably one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had. Dishes I enjoyed were the meatballs prosciutto and the four cheese gnocchi!!! Dishes I did not enjoy - I am sorry to say but it was the steak. I saw they had fiorentina steak and asked the waiter if they use Chianina cattle he said yes they get their steak flown out from Italy and I was really excited. I asked if I can see the cut and when he brings it he said it’s USDA prime. I was a little disappointed but I said it’s was ok I can just order their tomahawk with truffles. The steak came out and it was cooked to perfection once I took a bite it was so bland I was taken back. Again it was cooked perfectly medium rare and it was flavorless. I tried eating some of the beef with the truffle and noticed the truffle was also bland. So then I tried the truffle on its own and it was flavorless. No umami no earthy musky flavor nothing. I even tried smelling a piece and it had no odor. It was really pricey and probably won’t be coming back due to the price range. But I would tell others I had a really good espresso martini and one of the best gnocchis. Update:Thank you Erica for reaching out. We had the privilege to return back to Gene and Georgetti’s and I can say that this time around they backed up their reputation with the taste I expected and also heard. This time around we tried the Branzino, the fiorentina steak w/asparagus. We did also order our favorites from our last visit the 4 cheese gnocchi and prosciutto!!! The steak was again cooked to perfection and was backed up with the flavor. Great crust and flavor with every bite. Branzino also came with a delicious aroma and the skin of the fish gave this dish a delicious flavor. I really liked the different textures crispy skin with a soft finish. We also had their famous espresso martinis. I am convinced these are the best I’ve ever had. Erica thank you for inviting us back.The service and the steak was night and day from our previous visit here. Our waiter JJ made sure we felt at home and was amazing. Very hospitable and made sure we were taken care of. Great example of Hospitality. Will we come back ??? Absolutely.
