This is an amazing conservatory located in west side of Chicago loop! It has a small entry fee for non-Chicago residents but totally worth to check it out! The desert house was a standout in my experience! It was so interesting to see so many species of beautiful cactus plants around the world! The fern house and aroid house gave a very jungle like vibe and was pretty impressive as well!

Wonderful. We enjoyed this place very much. Kids loved it. The show room smelled beautiful with all the flowers. We enjoyed the fish ponds. It's currently under construction and the children's garden is closed but we can't wait to see it when it's done. If you receive WIC or SNAP, then you can get free admission. If not, adults are $10 and kids over 5 are $5.

Great place. Very beautiful. We enjoyed walking around and seeing all the plants and flowers. We also seen three turtles. We had an interesting conversation with one of the people working there. We learned some history of the place and facts bout the place and chicago. We recommend this place.

Weekends are officially too busy to be pleasant. With unmitigated photography sessions the Conservatory is downright treacherous to navigate. Still, smelled really nice and of course was beautiful. My favorite this go around was the staghorn fern! All the plants are so well maintained and seem cartoonishly beautiful. Entrance is easy and staff is pleasant. I don’t believe there’s any thing preventing or allowing these wedding shoots, but they certainly will scowl and even speak harshly with you if you’re “in the way”. I endured three wedding shoots, one with the whole party in the shower room, one with a THREE cameraman set up (completely monopolizing the entrance/exit to the fern room for over 20+ minutes) Quinceañera photos, maternity photos, etc. I saw (and had to evade) at least seven PROFESSIONAL sessions just to make my short loop through. Not to mention all the cell phone lifestyle video content filming. Then, everyone walking around is walking into you because they’re legitimately staring at photos of themselves at the conservatory on their phone. It seems more people want to post about being here than to be here. Really disappointing experience as a result of my fellow “guests” I implore you to find a way to go at “off peak” times. Honestly, if you can only go between like 12-4 on a Saturday, the culture has gotten so bad I’d almost recommend skipping it!

A gorgeous conservatory. Not quite the conservatory we have back home in San Francisco, but still beautiful and very enjoyable. Went for their "Merry and Bright" exhibit over Christmas, and we all loved our time there. But the other exhibits/rooms are no less beautiful. Definitely make it a point to pass by, particularly if you just want to step away from the hustle and bustle of downtown amd enjoy a bit of respite amongst some gorgeous plants/flowers/cactus/etc.

This is by far one of the most beautiful tourist attractions here in the city. The flowers were so beautiful and planted perfectly. It is also free for residents who live in Illinois, just be sure to have your local state ID or DL. If you are looking for some greenery scenery, give this place a try!

Great activity to take a break from the cold! Incredible botanical garden, plants were beautiful and well maintained, the space is a pretty reasonable size, took me around 90 mins to make my way around. So many different sections as you walk through, the palms and desert plants were a highlight. The $10 admission is good value!
