City Fresh Market

Every time we are in Chicago we stop here to get some proper serbian meats and desserts. I was disappointed to see that they no longer carry knjaz milos water : ( but that’s ok because we got a brick of creme pita and some excellent slanina. Very cute serbian grocer with an impressive bakery

City Fresh Market is a wonderful Business in the Heart of West Ridge. They have excellent employees who are very customer oriented. Also they provide delivery service. I highly recommend this Store. Great selection of items as well. A special thanks to Miss Amina!

Good selection of groceries for a smaller market. I appreciate that they have a large fridge of organic groceries and usually a good sale on a few of those items. I also appreciate the cultural variety in their selection. It is the perfect store for me when I’m running short on time for a full grocery run.

Today I was at City Fresh Market and had the pleasure of meeting Marco. He's a very kind person and gladly helped me find some products I needed. He also told me they have some European desserts, and trusting his recommendation, I bought a few. They were delicious! If any customers read my comment, I recommend you try the tiramisu. I thanked Marco, but I would like the owners to thank him as well for the excellent job he does.

Today I went to purchase pita bread and found one pack on the bottom shelf near the deli as I grabbed it I realized it was completely opened and exposed to dust and god knows what else. I ask an employee if they had more in the back due to this product being exposed. She said I mean it looks like someone just grabbed it and it opened. I said can you please check the back and she did. She came back and said she spoke to the manager and that was the last pita bread they had AS SHE RESEALED THE BAG AND PLACED IT BACK ON THE SHELF...this is not how you do business this was the last straw for me at this store. I can't wash bread you dont attempt to give people back an item they complained about and you certainly don't put it back on the shelf. Disgusting

Edit: I gave them another chance. They are definitely very good and carry a wide variety of dairy, meat, deli, and produce. Just be sure to check the dates and select refrigerated items carefully. Not so fresh! Second time the milk has not been fresh. The first time, I didn’t say anything. The second time I brought them both back but I didn’t have a receipt. My bad! This place is more of a convenience store and you have to be careful about what’s fresh and what’s not. So save your receipts and you only have 24 hours to return items. I won’t say I will never come back, but it will be a very long time. Maybe, perhaps, inconvenience. But, I just can’t trust the dairy refrigeration here.

You can find some of the best selections of Yugoslavian food there. They make great Borek and very nice breads too!

It is very important for me to have good ground beef, chicken and steak in my freezer cuz i cook everyday, and guys let me tell you something, they have the BEST and freshest meet in Chicago. It’s great for all the other things that they sell too. I enjoy buying groceries in this store. Highly recommended.
