Chicago's Chinatown Gateway

Chicago’s Chinatown is full of Asian food, unique products, drinks, and souvenirs. It’s a fun place to just walk around, window shop, and soak in the culture. A must visit spot in Chicago if you love exploring different cultures and flavors

Lots of renovations or poorly kept road when I was here. It was end of winter/beginnig of spring so that might be why. But decent shop options, bring cash. Like many chinatown, a lot of shop only take cash

Chicago’s Chinatown is fantastic for food and Chinese culture lovers. There are tons of Asian restaurants, dessert shops, hair salons, and gift shops. I could get my food here forever. Every restaurant that I have been to doesn’t make me disappointed. Everything is delicious including Cantonese dim sum, Szechuan hotpot, bbq, Korean fried chicken, pho, various noodles, boba, and sushi. There are also some Chinese live shows at the large square.

There’s a ton of Asian food, products, drinks, and souvenirs you can see in the area and it’s honestly great to just walk around and window shop. I did find all the buildings while driving cool to look at as well. Make sure to come fairly early on Saturdays or Sundays especially since it gets packed really quickly in the parkling lot & restaurants if you’re planning on eating. There’s 2 floors and majority of the bigger restaurants are on the 1st floor and the snacky shops, drink shops, and souvenir shops are on the 2nd floor. They’ve also got all the Zodiac animals in the small plaza area right outside of the store areas. Overall, an interesting place to go whether you’re Chinese or not to just explore and try out some stuff.

Loved it! I hadn’t got experience of attending the actual China before, but China town in Chicago was wonderful. Loved the food, stores, atmosphere. I went there by Water Taxi - amazing views of the architecture and the river. Loved it all!

The only down side was that the structures are severely lacking in maintenance and need to be heavily revamped. Doors are broken and old, buildings are rusting and falling apart and it looks like the entire city is about to crumble. But it was a great experience non the less. And so many shops to visit. We had a great time walking around and seeing and trying new things.

Great spot to watch the Chicago Marathon! So supportive, energetic and fun! Lots of bakeries and restaurants in the area.

Impromptu trip to the city and we ended up over here. People were polite and the area was clean. The food was some of the best I’ve had! You can go any shop and leave happy. There is such a great community here.
