We absolutely enjoyed our first ever visit here. Welcome center host was very friendly and helpful. He explained the map of the area so well. Has nice gift shop with artifacts and lots to offer. Building is beautiful inside and out. Has restrooms that are nice. He gave us history information about the place and area. The Cherokee Arboretum was awesome. So much history here! We walked the trails and followed the creek. It’s a beautiful trail that is shaded and so peaceful. Easy walk as well. All through the trail are signs pointing out different trees that the Cherokee used back then to treat and help so many illness’s and their many uses. So cool! Trail along creek had a suspended bridge across the creek. Signs explaining the history of so much. It’s truly fascinating and educating. The flower garden is so beautiful. Train track there also. We were lucky enough to see one pass. There’s plenty of parking and it’s easy to drive to. Kid friendly but no pets allowed. Has benches throughout the trails to sit and rest. We endured no ticks or bug bites! It’s a wonderful experience at a very cheap price. I highly recommended visiting here. Thanks for such a wonderful experience!

A lovely sanctuary with lots of hiking trails, some historic buildings, a swinging bridge and more! Very friendly staff and for those looking to learn more, a good bit of historical displays in the visitors center.
This is an amazing adventuring nature park. They say you can also kayak or canoe here. It’s really enjoyable and great for kids. The history of this place is unique, they have a front office with historical items and the staff get 5/5 stars for being amazing! Definitely wear bug repellent in the summer.
Beautiful trails and nice little visitor center. Can't wait to go back in spring.
A nice walk in the woods. The trails are well marked, but don’t lose your map. There is no exit or return to parking lot sign. They have placed a significant amount of benches along the trails so anyone should be able to walk it without getting too tired. Good shoes are recommended no flip-flops since it’s been raining it’s kind of mushy. Lotta roots not recommended for someone that isn’t stable on their feet. Not that it’s a difficult incline learning thing is just gets narrow and pretty primitive. Cute little gift shop. Nice volunteers to chat with.
Very cool park. We took the wonderland trail to the suspension bridge that goes over the South Chickamauga Creek. Lots of wild flowers and even wildlife like turtles to see. Even ran into a local volunteer group called Tennessee Naturalists. They were doing some studies on wildlife in the water today. My only complaint was they do reenactments and don't inform the public so firing fake shots on the trail is kind of alarming and being told to get off the trail was off-putting.
We had a great experience visiting this tranquil nature park that is kinda like a hidden jewel situated just two miles from a very busy major shopping area. The trails are well marked and maintained plus they offer trail maps at the rustic and friendly welcome center which has a wealth of nature information. Our visit happened to coincide with two school buses of a field trip for elementary students but hearing their excitement and seeing their smiles made our experience all the more enjoyable. The swinging bridge across the large creek was an awesome plus on the trail that had a few flowers blooming along the way. We plan to visit again because we only visited half of what it offers!
The trails are pretty to walk - springtime is the BEST as there's so many beautiful wildflowers. The creek is also nice to wade and splash if you have young kids. I've also kayaked it and it was lovely - I even saw a bald eagle.
