I absolutely love this place! While the prices can be a little higher than average, it is 100% worth it because they genuinely care about their animals. They have an amazing variety of reptiles and invertebrates, and every single one is extremely healthy and well-taken care of.
I was especially impressed that they require you to show a picture of your enclosure before taking a reptile home. This proves that they prioritize the animal's well-being over making a quick sale.

Tiny pet shop specializing in reptiles mostly. The most unique one in the shop was a 2 headed snake with a wide variety of other snakes, geckos, and some tarantula spiders available.
I visited in the hopes of particularly finding an axolotl. There weren't any in the fro t of the shop. One of the girls that were feeding the animals mentioned they may have one in the back but said it wasn't available to see.
Excellent customer service. Very knowledgeable staff. There was a plastic tote full of roaches in there but apparently they were supposed to be there according to the staff. Debatable. Also one of the staff keep bringing me containers of worms and showing them to me. Gross. I did end up buying the worms. They're in my refrigerator now and I'm still disgusted. But they were wonderful nonetheless. The girl I talked to spent easily 30 minutes answering all my questions and helping me pick out the best items for my axolotl. This was our first time at Cold Blooded and Bizarre. The store is so awesome with so many cool reptiles and more. Connor was very helpful with helping us find what we wanted. He was patient with my son as he asked a million questions. We will definitely be back!
I've visited with my kids several times to check out the animals. The staff is always friendly and informative. The animals are healthy and well cared for. This week we finally brought home our first reptile pet, a juvenile Crested Gecko. Connor was incredibly helpful getting us set up for a bioactive habitat and allowed us time to select the perfect gecko for our family. My 5 year old is over-the-moon!!! Thank you Connor🦎
The staff are very helpful and kind however when I called about the pinhead crickets they said that they'll get it the next day and I was like great! My sister drove 30 minutes from where I live to get the pinhead crickets for my baby tarantula slings and only to find out they don't have them in stock! I spoke to the manager on the phone asking for compensation since i have a loyalty account and he said no I would have to order it! Well that's not what the lady I spoke to over the phone yesterday said! Communication needs work but I'll still order insects from them since this is the only place locally that has good quality insects for reptiles!
We had the guys come out for our daughter's 7th birthday and everyone had a blast! The kids were so interested in the animals and even the adults were captivated. They taught everyone about each critter they brought and patiently answered all of the kids’ (and adults’) questions. They did a great job making sure everyone was included at their comfort level and offered opportunities to look at, touch, and hold the animals. The kids had the best time and all of the parents and grandparents were so impressed!
Amazing reptile store. The staff are super freindly and willing to help with questions. They set up a snake enclosure for me while I waited. The best reptile store in charlotte!
