I took the day time and ghost tour with Palmetto Carriage Works. Looney and Fox (can’t forget the two brothers and Clint) were both great guides and I really learned a lot during the tours. I love that they are transparent and explain how they take care of the horses. Loved the fun facts! You can tell they are definitely taken care of and loved. I’m really glad there are regulations in place to make sure they’re taken good care of. The views on the tour are great and definitely give you memories to take with you from your Charleston trip!

We had a fantastic carriage ride with our guide Rob and his carriage pullers Yogie and BooBoo! Rob was one of the best guides we have had. He was knowledgeable, humorous & so very informative about the history of Charleston! I must admit it is difficult to impress our group(my husband was a Citadel grad and our daughter’s mother’s side of the family date back to 1800 Charlestonians!) Thank you for a very pleasant afternoon! See you next year!
We loved our tour with guide Brian and his partner, Teddy the Belgium Draft Horse. We loved learning about the history of Charleston to the soundtrack of clip clops. We laughed when we learned how a madame convinced city council in the 1800s to pave the red light district so the same city councilmen would not have to explain muddy boots to their wives. The private tour is so worth it - and everyone in the family will approve! Also loved the cleanliness of the barn and care that is obviously taken for their four legged staff!
Excellent experience! Our tour guide 'Big Mike' was full of southern charm to bring character to our spooky tour. Fun and unique Charleston history to learn! Teddy was a beautiful horse and a great taxi driver ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Highly recommend to do a carriage horse ride!!! Amazing, relaxing, wonderful, interesting!!! Thank you Kevin for a great tour!!! 10 stars! I even went for a walk in the evening and did additional photos of the very interesting buildings we saw during our tour. And great recommendations from Kevin for delicious cookies (YES, it works, once you try them you buy them!) and excellent ice cream! As perfect as it gets!!!
Great experience, we easily purchased tickets near the Market and were given directions to walk to the “red barn” where the tour would start in approx 30 minutes. The tour guide/driver did a great job getting us loaded up and moving where she introduced herself and the horse as well as explained how the Palmetto horses are cared for during the day. Our guide was well informed and did a great job explaining the history on our route. Very well done.
Tour was so amazing. So happy that I decided to book it. In very short time we learned so much about history of Charleston. Mr. Alan with Bezos, kept all tour very informative and interesting. I don’t think we could have better person for this experience. He was on top of everything, very aware of his surroundings, answering questions, and handling everything that came unexpectedly his way. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience that my family had. We will never forget it.
Carriage Ghost Tour was incredible!! Take time to do this while you're in Charleston! 830 pm Tour was beautiful, as the city was darkening. Tour guide Kevin and horse Boeing are the best team!!!
