Kevin and his beautiful horse Isiah were fantastic! We had a great time. Kevin was very informative and articulate throughout the tour. He injected both light humor and interesting facts about the area. We were lucky enough to get the Meeting Street, Battery and Rainbow Row tour and I heard stories about those fascinating locations that I’d never heard before. Thank you for a great time Kevin! Keep up the good work!

Although we loved our 20 yr old horse Buddy and the ability to see a good portion of the city that little ones probably wouldn't have been able to walk otherwise, I was unimpressed with the quality of the content of the tour. As an educator, I felt it needed a clear focus that info, buildings and parts of the city could tie back into. It felt disjointed and I walked away feeling like i didn't learn much about what the city had been like over it's long past or where it is headed today. If you have the option to choose a guide, choose one praised in these reviews because ours needed a revision of his talking points. Seeing the buildings and homes was nice. Be aware that tours go out with a random lottery ball system to assign routes so the streets and certain areas don't become too crowded. Because of this, there are different routes and you won't see everything. Horses seemed to be in good shape and the guide spent the first portion of the tour highlighting how they care for the horses, where they live when not working, and what their work schedules are like. Tour was a bit pricey...approx. $220 for 2 adults, 2 kids and tip. Bathrooms are on-site. Shuttle to downtown leaves from Charleston visitor's center where you can park in a parking garage for about $20 for the day. Free shuttle then will take you around town and you can hop on and off. I think tour company was near stop 4 which was also close to the Open air Market and restaurants and shops.

Carol and Bingo were an amazing team! We went through the mansion area of Charleston. Carol knew so many interesting facts about the history and people of Charleston. It was an hour well spent on our Charleston vacation.

Tour with Mr. Donald and our horse Curtis was above and beyond! I highly recommend as an Arquitectos I learned so much. Donald was extremely knowledgeable and kept it fun and funny while teaching us so much historical information. 10/10 would do it again and it’s worth your precious time visiting. It was the highlight of our trip.

2013 was the last time we had taken a carriage tour of Charleston. In early May 2026 Madison and a big handsome four year old named Jasper took us on a wonderful tour of Route 3. Madison is very knowledgeable about the history of Charleston. Jasper is in training and will likely be at the top of his class before the year is out. We had a blast.

Rex and Heidi were an excellent pair! Heidi was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Charleston and Rex made sure to get us around the city safely. Rex definitely deserves to be the horse of the month!

We have used Old South Carriage Co. during multiple trips to Charleston. We changed it up and did the night haunted carriage tour. Mason was a champ. Well behaved and was a pro on his route. Holly was amazing. Had great stories to share. We got to see a whole other side of Charleston.
