Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum

Absolutely amazing aviation museum. The place is big, clean, and has many different aircrafts. The staff is super friendly and the gift shop is well stocked. We liked it so much that we visited twice over the summer despite having an over 2 hour drive to get there. And we will be back whenever we are in the area.

An excellent activity for a rainy day, the Aviation museum is interactive and an informative opportunity to learn more of the history of planes. Kids three and under are free and the older kids are able to enjoy going into some of the planes and exploring the hanger. Worth the stop.

A cool museum to visit and see history of the united states miltary in a up close and personal way. Theres so much to see here with a gift shop and free parking. You can spend an entire day here and examine some really rare artifacts of american air domination fighting machinery.

I had a great time at the NAS Wildwood museum. They have a great collection spanning from WWI to Cold-War jet fighters and even a Boeing 777 engine. You can step up and look into the cockpits of most of the jets and helicopters, and can even step into a few. The kids loved all the room to run around, and climbing the old Baker Field air-control tower. I am looking forward to Airfest 2026.

Must see if you’re in Cape May County. There are so many wonderful exhibits in the museum. If you can find Jim Pennington. He’s a volunteer with a TON of amazing info and stories. Your visit will be soo much better with Jim showing you around. My favorites were the attack planes; Harrier, F-14 & F-16, but the old jets and Coast Guard stuff were cool as well. Great place for kids as there’s a ton of hands on things. You can get in some of the planes. Don’t miss the exhibits on the people lost during training. A nice part is you can spend 30min or 3 hrs depending on time available. But seriously, if you want to know more cool facts FIND JIM!!!!

We went to this museum last week. Kids had a lot of fun sitting inside the choppers and aircraft cockpits. Really recommend if you are in the area. They have the Mig-15, F14, F5, F16 to name a few.

We really enjoyed the museum. We saved this for a rainy day . Great way to spend the day if you can't hit up the beach.

Awesome experience! Be prepared to spend a couple of hours traveling back through history. It can be emotional if you served during the times that are recreated here. Don't miss this opportunity.
